Come capture the spirit of the holidays in your sketchbook on Friday, December 1 at the Cornell Art Museum’s Holiday Sip & Sketch during First Friday Art Walk from 5:30pm- 7:30pm. This is a FREE event and space is limited so sign up NOW! Artist visitors will be able to set up inside and outside, weather permitting. Dry art media only inside (colored pencils), all media allowed outside. **Please also bring your own portable art supplies and sketchbooks. ✨Holiday carolers will be performing and light refreshments will be served. This is a night not to miss! ✨ ~The event begins with a short presentation by Jen Fisher on her approach to on-site sketching and perspective drawing. Participants are then invited to explore the museum and record their experiences in their own sketchbook. Jen will be available to assist participants and will suggest drawing prompts and exercises for the evening. JEN FISHER is a mixed media artist with an interior design background. During her years as a designer in New York City, she created state of the art interior spaces for various commercial design projects while working for architectural firms. Transitioning to the academic world, she became an Academic and Career Advisor at the New York School of Interior Design. Jen’s desire to create small works took her artistic career down a new path: jewelry design and teaching art. She created her own architecturally inspired jewelry line and began painting while teaching and experimenting with new materials. Jen currently enjoys urban sketching, participating in art exhibitions and teaching perspective drawing and city sketching. Her 2020 pandemic drawings from her recently published book, Dear Diary, A Pictorial Essay of Life During the COVID-19 Pandemic, have become part of the archives at the William & Mary Libraries Special Collections Research Center of personal experiences and documentaries of the Coronavirus pandemic. Jen currently lives in Boca Raton, Florida.
