About the event
The Murfreesboro Christmas Parade is one of our most heartwarming traditions, as floats, bands and dancers march their way down Main Street in celebration of the cherished holiday season.The parade is always held on the second Sunday of December and starts at East Main Street by MTSU and ends on Walnut Street, one block past the Square. The 2026 theme is "A Country Christmas".

Spectator Information
Parking: The best place for spectators to park is in the Judicial Center parking garage located at 223 N Maple St. or Civic Plaza parking garage located at 111 W Vine St. Viewing: Spectators can line Main St. from Middle TN Blvd. to Maple St. Please stay on sidewalks and watch children closely.

A Float entry includes one vehicle pulling one float. The length of the truck + trailer cannot exceed 45 ft. 

 

This entry is not for single vehicles not pulling a float. To enter in the float category, you must be pulling a float.


Each float entry will be reviewed and you will be notified within 3 business days of submitting your application. Your card will be charged upon approval. There will be no refunds issued.  


To ensure a high-quality parade, entries must be SIGNIFICANTY decorated for Christmas. While we welcome businesses to use their company logo in signage, the focus of the entry should be on a Christmas theme.

 

Additional vehicles on a single entry will not be permitted in the 2026 Christmas Parade. Each float entry must be registered separately.  


The following are not allowed: dump trucks, race cars, tow trucks, motorcycles, minibikes, go carts, and OHVs. No OHVs, including registered OHVs, will be allowed to participate. 


Awards in the Float category will be: 
Best Business Float 
Best Church/School Float 
Best Scout/Civic/Social Float 
Best In Show

The Walking Group entry is for groups that will be walking in the parade without a float.

 

Walking groups with AT LEAST 5 walkers may have ONE vehicle accompany them in the parade.

 

To ensure a high-quality parade, vehicles with walking groups must be SIGNIFICANTY decorated for Christmas. While we welcome businesses to use their company logo in signage, the focus of the entry should be on a Christmas theme. Vehicles that come to the parade that are not decorated will not be permitted in the procession. If you will have a float, please enter in the float entry. 


Each entry will be reviewed, and you will be notified within 3 business days of submitting your application. Your card will be charged upon approval. There will be no refunds issued.

There is no award given for the Walking Group category.

An Antique Car entry includes one vehicle. Vehicles must be at least 45 years or older.  


There will be one award for Best Antique Car. 


There is no approval for the Antique Car category. Your application will be automatically approved, and your card will be charged upon submission. If you have any questions, please contact us BEFORE you submit your application. There will be no refunds issued.  

 

Additional vehicles on a single entry will not be permitted in the 2026 Christmas Parade. Each entry must be registered separately.

A Dancing/Street Performance entry includes one vehicle. You have the option to include a float with your one vehicle. If you do not pull a float, your vehicle must be decorated. The length of the truck + trailer cannot exceed 45 ft. 


Each Dancing/Street Performance entry will be reviewed, and you will be notified within 3 business days of submitting of your approval status. Your card will be charged upon approval. There will be no refunds issued.

A Horse entry includes one horse. Please register each horse individually. 


There is no approval for the Horse category. Your application will be automatically approved and your card will be charged upon submission. If you have any questions, please contact us BEFORE you submit your application. There will be no refunds issued.
