Missed the first round of clay pumpkins? Here is another chance to create handmade fall décor! This class will give the participants the opportunity to work with clay to create and glaze a hand built pumpkin and ghost! Students will be shown some beginner friendly techniques like pinching and slab building to create their two pieces. Instructed by Amy Smoot,
This class has two sessions, one for all ages, and one for adults:
Session A: September 20th, 2:30-5:30pm ; All Ages
Session B: September 21st, 2:30-5:30pm, 18+
Students should wear clothes that they don't mind getting clay on.
Session A is for all ages, but children 16 and under who are registered must be accompanied by an adult. The adult can purchase their own ticket if they wish to participate in the class.
There is a minimum of 4 participants and a maximum of 13 for each session. If the minimum is not met, participants will be refunded.
About Amy Smoot: Amy Smoot is the Clay Studio manager at Kentuck. She is from Carrollton, GA and currently resides in Tuscaloosa, AL. She received her BFA in ceramics from the University of West Georgia in 2015. While there, she was studio technician and research assistant in the ceramics area. In 2019 she received her MFA from The University of Alabama where she first began teaching ceramics as a graduate assistant. Her practice consists of all types of ceramics techniques including mold-making, slip-casting, hand building, and wheel thrown pottery.

This class will be held in Kentuck's Clay Studio at 2014 5th Street. The entrance is in the Courtyard of Wonders. Look for the green door and trim! There are two parking lots next to the Courtyard of Wonders, and participants are also welcome to park in Downtown Northport.
