Greetings to all volunteers of the 2023 Charlotte Pride Festival & Parade! We are so honored for you to take part in this tremendous celebration of Charlotte's LGBTQ+ community! The festival runs Saturday, Aug. 19th through Sunday, Aug. 20th, with set-up also occurring Friday, Aug. 18th. The parade is on Sunday, Aug. 20th. It is with the awesome energy and support of our passionate and talented volunteers like YOU that we are able to make this spectacular event happen. Upon completion of their shift, each volunteer will be entered into a raffle for a VIP festival experience. Please know we will do our best to accommodate your desired volunteer role, and we ask that you please be flexible to shifting in role as needs arise. Please also let us know as soon as you can if you have any conflicts in timeframe or otherwise; we appreciate any and all volunteer time, we just need to plan accordingly to carry out a successful event! All requested information is required. This form is to be completed by all participants in Charlotte Pride activities, including volunteers during the weekend of the Charlotte Pride Festival and Parade. TO PARENTS/GUARDIANS AND VOLUNTEERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18: All volunteers during the weekend of the Charlotte Pride Festival and Parade must be aged 14 or older and must have parental permission via this release form to participate. Parents/Guardians: Please complete this form with your name as the "Participant Name" and your contact information in "Participant Email" and "Participant Phone Number;" please include your minor child's name, email, and phone number in the appropriate fields as provided. The Charlotte Pride Pageant is a gender-inclusive drag pageant for contestants who believe in the power and importance of community service. Our pageant winners are more than just Title Holders. They live and breathe the Spirit of Pride. They envision a world in which all LGBTQIA+ people are affirmed, respected, and included — free from any discrimination, rejection, or prejudice. They commit their volunteer work, time, and energy to the Charlotte Pride mission to enrich, empower, strengthen, and make more visible the lives and experiences of LGBTQIA+ people in Charlotte and the Carolinas. 

 

This year’s Charlotte Pride Pageant follows suit with the 2022 pageant in-line with our commitment toward intentional inclusion and visibility. We have combined previously separate pageant contests, with each titled contest this year open to all performers regardless of gender. 

 

Up to three winners will be selected; together, Mx. Charlotte Pride, Ms. Charlotte Pride, and Mr. Charlotte Pride will serve as the Charlotte Pride Court. 

 

If you are interested in competing to become a part of the Charlotte Pride Royal Court, please complete this application in its entirety. Before completing this application, we encourage you to think thoughtfully about your answers to the following questions, as well as to prepare your  information for upload.

 

Two high resolution photos must be submitted via email to Communications Manager Liz Schob at lizs@charlottepride.org at the time of submission or this application will not be considered complete.

 

This year's Charlotte Pride Pageant will be hosted as a component of the Charlotte Pride Festival Entertainment on Saturday, August 19, 2023. We kindly request that all qualified contestants plan to be available Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20 for other duties.

 

There are no registration fees for 2023.

Dear artists, entertainers, and speakers! 

 

We invite you to submit your information here to be considered as a potential performer for the 2023 Charlotte Pride Festival & Parade on Aug. 19-20. All forms of art, entertainment, talent, and speakers, are welcome, as we have a wide variety of entertainment needs! 

 

When filling out the application, please be sure to provide us with examples of your work so we may be able to fully consider your participation. Due to the high volume of submissions we WILL NOT be able to reach out to request samples if we are not provided them.  

 

You may not hear from us immediately, but be on the lookout for future communications via email as our team works on planning and producing this year’s festivities. We may even reach back out at the contact info provided to request you join us for our annual Community Auditions event later this summer.
