The Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art is proud to present Chalktoberfest, an exciting combination of their annual Chalk Art Festival with Marietta's premier Craft Beer Festival. In 2018 over 100,000 visitors attended the festival. Enjoy your afternoon watching professional Chalk Artists chalk the streets, sampling craft beers, live music from local artists, and eating great food at the beautiful downtown square of Marietta. A great day out for all the family, the Chalk Festival is free to attend. The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art is the only Metropolitan-Atlanta fine arts museum focusing on American Art. Our permanent collection houses a variety of artworks dating from as early as the 18th century to the present. The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building community through art. Professional chalk artists create large works on the streets around the Historic Marietta Square. In 2018 over 100,000 visitors attended the festival. There are a limited number of chalk artist positions available at Chalktoberfest. Due to overwhelming response, please complete your application using the form below, on the Chalktoberfest 2019 Eventeny site, ASAP. There is no official theme for 2019. YOU MUST SUBMIT 1-2 IMAGES YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO THIS YEAR AND 3 EXAMPLES OF YOUR PREVIOUS CHALK WORK. Please ask if you have any questions before you submit your sketch/design. The deadline for submission is June 1, 2019. Your work must be family-friendly - no nudity, profanity, explicit images, or violence is permitted. We will not permit multiple artists to produce the same piece. Please submit early! Chalktoberfest will be juried by a committee and accepted/denied artists will receive notification via email. Contracts will be sent to accepted artists by July 15, 2019. If you have not been contacted by that date, please contact Sally Macaulay at 770-528-1444 x 14 or smacaulaymcma@bellsouth.net. If you are chosen as one of our professional artists for this event and sign a contract, you are expected to attend the festival. However, if an emergency should arise, please contact the Sally Macaulay via phone ASAP to discuss your inability to participate. FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11 Transport independently to the MCMA using taxi, UBER, own cars, etc. 1:00 - 6:00 pm - Artist Check-in and prepare workspace. In 2018 the festival had over 100,000 visitors over the weekend. ENTERTAINMENT Entertainers of outstanding talent perform throughout the festival on the great stage in the square. Visitors can relax and enjoy the outstanding established and up-and-coming performers, helping to create a wonderful festival atmosphere. Chalktoberfest employs a stage sound engineer for the event to make the experience incredible. WHAT WE NEED We would love for you to apply to perform. Chalktoberfest does not charge for admission therefore entertainers are generally not paid to perform at this event. Your performance would be a greatly appreciated donation. The event is very highly attended with over 100,000 visitors over the two days. DATES/TIMES Saturday, October 12th from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 13th from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We only have slots on Sunday. All the slots are filled for Saturday.
