Grassroots Kava House is turning 10, and Bula on Baum is a celebration of the community that helped build it.

For one afternoon, Baum Avenue will come alive with music, art, creativity, movement, performance and the people who make St. Pete feel like St. Pete.

We are looking for local artists, makers, performers, creators and community-driven creatives who want to be part of the experience.

And when we say art, we mean it broadly.

Painting. Photography. Illustration. Sculpture. Written word. Poetry. Live art. Skateboarding. Movement. Performance. Interactive installations. Handmade work. Mixed media. Street art. Creative demonstrations. Something we haven't thought of yet.

If you create something that gives people a reason to stop, watch, participate, think, laugh or start a conversation, we want to hear about it.

What We're Looking For
This is not intended to feel like a traditional vendor market lined with sales booths. Bula on Baum is about displaying, demonstrating and celebrating creativity within our community.

We welcome applications from:

Visual artists and photographers
Painters, illustrators and muralists
Sculptors and installation artists
Writers, poets and spoken-word artists
Live and performance artists
Skateboarders and movement-based creatives
Makers and craftspeople
Interactive and participatory artists
Mixed-media and unconventional creatives
Creative collectives and community groups
Other forms of expression that don't fit neatly into a category
Artists may display work, create live, demonstrate their craft, perform or develop an interactive experience for attendees.

If your idea doesn't fit into one of our categories, apply anyway and tell us what you want to create.

Selling Your Work

Artists and approved creative participants may sell their original work during the event when appropriate. However, Bula on Baum is prioritizing artists and creative experiences over traditional retail/vendor booths.

If your participation is primarily focused on selling merchandise or products rather than presenting creative work, please describe that clearly in your application so our team can determine whether it is a fit for the event.

Grassroots Kava House is celebrating 10 years of community, connection, and kava with Bula on Baum, a free street celebration in St. Petersburg, Florida, featuring live music, local art, performances, and the people who have helped build our community.

At 4 PM EST, we're taking the celebration worldwide with The Great Global Bula, a synchronized kava toast connecting kava bars and communities across the globe through a live broadcast.

Whether you're a neighborhood kava bar or part of a larger international community, we want you to raise a shell with us!

Choose How Your Kava Bar Participates

1. Participating Kava Bar | FREE

Open to all kava bars, with no participation limit.

Register your bar, gather your community, and raise a shell with kava lovers around the world from the comfort of your own bar at 4 PM EST on February 13th!

Participation is simple. All you need is a way to stream the live broadcast, such as a laptop connected to the internet. We'll provide the livestream link and instructions so your bar can join the worldwide celebration.

2. Featured Kava Bar Partner | $250

Limited to 10 kava bars.

Take your participation a step further with a scheduled, individual 3–5 minute live check-in before the global toast. Introduce your bar, share your community's story, and give viewers a look at how you're celebrating.

3. Global Bula Spotlight Partner | $500

Limited to 5 kava bars.

Be part of the main event! Each Spotlight Partner receives an individual introduction before the toast and joins a simultaneous on-screen appearance at 4 PM EST as we raise our shells together for The Great Global Bula.
