Discover the world of books and enjoy family-friendly activities at the eighth annual Books in Bloom festival, hosted by the Downtown Columbia Partnership (DTCP) and Howard Hughes. Join us on Saturday, May 11th, from 11:30 am to 5 p.m. at Color Burst Park, located in the heart of the vibrant Merriweather District of Downtown Columbia. Books in Bloom is known as one of the region's most progressive book festivals, but that isn’t all. It's also a celebration of diversity, inclusion, and the power of storytelling to unite generations and cultures. This free event invites families and book lovers of all ages to revel in a day filled with captivating readings, interactive activities, and engaging discussions. Whether you're a seasoned bookworm or just looking for a day of family fun, Books in Bloom promises a unique way to experience it all. Join us as we celebrate the beauty of literature and the joy of community at Color Burst Park on May 11th. First 200 guest ONSITE receive a signature journal* *Must RSVP to receive the journal. Since its inception in 2017, the festival has hosted renowned authors, chefs, activists, poets, and more, with interactive programming around salient themes including race, feminism, equality, and culture. Books in Bloom has served as an enduring expression of Columbia's love of literature and venue for meaningful dialogue since its inaugural year, and will continue to do so for years to come.
