Have your aspiring artists join Molly Nelko this summer for an 8-week summer camp! In each session, participants will explore a variety of media and techniques. Let them learn about what it takes to be an artist—from creation to exhibiting their work—this is weekly hour and a half class at Kentuck while you take some time for you! At the end of the summer, your kids will help host their own art show here at Kentuck in the Teer Gallery to display their favorite pieces. Opening night will be on August Art Night, August 1, 2024, from 5-8 PM. Sign up for the whole summer for $200 There will be opportunities for two age groups to register. Session A: Tuesdays from 10am-11:30am: Ages 12-16. June: June 4; Self portraits June 11; Printmaking June 18; Collaboration June 25; Still life painting July: July 2; Paper Mache July 9; Collage July 16; Show Prep July 23; Show Prep Session B: Wednesdays from 3-4:30pm: Ages 8-12. June June 5; Self portraits June 12; Printmaking June 19; Collaboration June 26; Still life painting July: July 3; Paper Mache July 10; Collage July 17; Show prep July 24; Show Prep There will be no make up sessions available. This class will be located in the newly available Studio 2 which is located behind Rusty the big red dog on our campus. Look for the blue double doors in the Courtyard of Wonders! $200, All supplies are included. There is a minimum of 3 participants and a maximum of 6. If the minimum is not met, participants will be refunded.  About Molly Nelko: A native of Mobile, AL, Molly Nelko has joined Kentuck’s staff as our Programming Assistant! She attended Springhill College and received a BA in fine art with a focus on oil painting and printmaking. Her work has been in individual exhibitions from Portland, OR to Hilton Head SC, and can be found online. Molly currently lives in Tuscaloosa with her husband, three children, and cat Quill. She has experimented with many different forms of art, and some of her favorites are encaustic, tessellations, and ink wash. Molly currently works in her studio regularly, but her focus has become more about enjoying creative projects with her children. This workshop is sponsored in part by the Alabama State Council on the Arts.

Parking instructions
This class will be held in Studio 2 in Kentuck's Courtyard of Wonders! Map to 503 Main Ave. Northport, AL 35476 and look for Rusty, the big red dog. Studio 2 is located in the building behind Rusty--look for the double blue doors! There is a parking lot next to this building, and participants are also welcome to park in Downtown Northport.
