Description
Children are invited to join the fun and show their patriotic spirit in our festive Patriot Parade! Young participants will march together around the park during the event, proudly carrying bright and colorful star shields as they celebrate community, America's 250th birthday, and pride. Star shields are available for just $5, giving each child a special way to take part in the parade and shine along the park route. All proceeds will go the the Johns Creek Public Safety Foundation. The Johns Creek Public Safety Foundation was established in 2008 and is a 501(c)3 entity. The primary mission of the Johns Creek Public Safety Foundation is to support the City of Johns Creek, Georgia firefighters and police who are injured in the line of duty and to assist their families if they are killed in the line of duty. A long-term disability or death of a public safety officer always generates extraordinary expenses and financial hardships that put a strain on the public safety officer and his/her family. The Johns Creek Public Safety Foundation provides financial support, especially with unexpected expenses not covered by typical employee benefit plans. The JCPS Foundation provides critical funds, like funeral expenses, medical expenses, and other necessary resources, when a death or illness causes a significant financial hardship to a fellow Johns Creek Fire and Police officer.

Students in Johns Creek are invited to join the fun and show their Patriot spirit in the Parade of Stars at the America 250 Celebration. Participants will walk across the stage carrying their own decorated signs to honor our community and America’s 250th birthday. Registration is $5, and all proceeds go directly to the Johns Creek Public Safety Foundation.

After registering, families will receive an email with instructions for picking up their sign. Each participant will receive a circular board featuring a star in the center. Students are encouraged to decorate the border around the star using paint, markers, or other creative materials. Those who pre-register will also be entered into a contest for the best-decorated sign.

The Parade of Stars will take place during the America 250 event at The Boardwalk at Town Center. Exact parade timing will be shared via email.
