A vibrant gathering where generations come together to celebrate the richness of African American culture through live music, food, and community connection. This milestone year will feature dynamic performances from national and local talent, immersive cultural experiences, a curated marketplace of Black-owned businesses, and flavors that reflect the diversity of the diaspora. From the main stage to family-friendly activations, every moment is designed to inspire, uplift, and celebrate. Whether you’ve been attending for years or it’s your first time, AFRAM 50 invites you to be part of a legacy!

The City of Baltimore is inviting young creatives to submit designs for the official AFRAM staff T-shirt. This competition is open to Baltimore City Public Schools students under the age of 18 and is designed to give youth an opportunity to showcase their creativity, represent their city, and contribute to one of the largest cultural festivals on the East Coast. Students are encouraged to create original designs that reflect AFRAM, Black culture, community, and Baltimore pride. Designs should be created with T-shirt printing in mind, with a front-facing design preferred, and a maximum of three colors recommended. All submissions must be original and submitted as a high-resolution PNG or vector file.

The selected winner will receive a cash award of $1,000, and their design will be produced as the official AFRAM staff T-shirt, worn on Sunday of the festival weekend. In addition, the design may be featured in a limited public release through a small batch or pre-order run. The winning student will also be recognized across City and MOACE platforms, acknowledged on stage during AFRAM, and invited to attend the festival as a VIP along with their family.

All submissions will be reviewed by a panel. The competition will launch on April 1, with submissions closing on May 15. The winning design will be announced on June 1.
