AFRAM 50 | Youth T-Shirt Contest
About the application
The City of Baltimore is inviting young creatives to submit designs for the official AFRAM staff T-shirt. This competition is open to Baltimore City Public Schools students under the age of 18 and is designed to give youth an opportunity to showcase their creativity, represent their city, and contribute to one of the largest cultural festivals on the East Coast. Students are encouraged to create original designs that reflect AFRAM, Black culture, community, and Baltimore pride. Designs should be created with T-shirt printing in mind, with a front-facing design preferred, and a maximum of three colors recommended. All submissions must be original and submitted as a high-resolution PNG or vector file.
The selected winner will receive a cash award of $1,000, and their design will be produced as the official AFRAM staff T-shirt, worn on Sunday of the festival weekend. In addition, the design may be featured in a limited public release through a small batch or pre-order run. The winning student will also be recognized across City and MOACE platforms, acknowledged on stage during AFRAM, and invited to attend the festival as a VIP along with their family.
All submissions will be reviewed by a panel. The competition will launch on April 1, with submissions closing on May 15. The winning design will be announced on June 1.
