a slow boat to china is an original hard rock band based in Atlanta. Their debut EP is now available for download at www.cdbaby.com/artist/aslowboattochina
AWARE Wildlife Center
The AWARE Wildlife Center rehabilitates injured and orphaned native Georgia wild animals and educates the public about peaceful coexistence with wildlife. On the rehabilitation side, AWARE accepts up to 2,000 injured and orphaned animals every year as patients at its center just east of Atlanta. On the education side, AWARE delivers hundreds of ambassador programs at schools and festivals across Georgia, offers free tours every Saturday and Sunday at 1PM, and reaches millions through streaming media broadcasts of educational wildlife encounters and releases of rehabilitated patients.
Canine Cellmates
Canine CellMates began on June 3, 2013 in Fulton County Jail, in Atlanta, Georgia. Canine CellMates works with the Fulton County Sheriff's Department and the Fulton County Jail to provide a program that is as much about rehabilitation and the reduction of recidivism as it is about saving shelter dogs. The ultimate goal is that each dog graduates and goes into a loving and forever home, and men that have evolved while in the program, and supported upon their release, go on to live productive lives without further incarceration.
Chip McGuire Band
Born in Cebu City, Philippines Chip was adopted by the McGuire family and traveled the 8,865 miles to his new "Hometown" of Adairsville, Georgia. Here he met his band mates and together they have created a unique style fusing together elements of bluegrass, country, Americana, rock and folk known as "Nu-Grass". Chip continues to write new music and blends every ones personal style of playing into something that translates into an electrifyingly energetic sound that is truly original and makes for an explosive live show.
Furkids
Furkids, headquartered in Atlanta, GA, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization that operates the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the Southeast for rescued cats and Sadie’s Place, a no-kill shelter for dogs. Furkids also operates one of the only facilities in the Southeast dedicated to the care of FIV positive cats. The Furkids mission is to rescue homeless animals, provide them with the best medical care and nurturing environment while working to find them a forever home. Furkids heals the whole animal, physically and emotionally, restoring its health and its spirit. Furkids has rescued and altered more than 25,000 animals since its founding in 2002. Approximately 1,000 animals are in the Furkids program today, in the Furkids shelters, 13 PetSmart and Petco adoption centers, and more than 400 foster homes in the Atlanta area. Furkids is the only animal rescue organization in metro Atlanta that allows children of all ages to volunteer. Furkids volunteer programs are designed to restore the health and spirits of injured and homeless animals while providing healing opportunities for volunteers who are strengthened by the bond of love and care between humans and animals. Georgia House Rabbit Society
We are the Georgia House Rabbit Society (GHRS), a volunteer-based nonprofit 501(c)3 rabbit rescue organization serving the metro Atlanta area and beyond. Since our formation in 1996, we have rescued over 3500 domesticated rabbits in need. In 2010 we opened our Rabbit Shelter in Marietta, Georgia. Our rescue is the only rabbit specific shelter in Georgia and there are only a few like it in the country. Our stand alone facility serves multiple purposes. In addition to providing housing for our rescued rabbits, the shelter also serves as a learning center, a boarding facility, and a source for quality rabbit supplies.
Pony League
Pony League has a knack for distilling real life moments into shimmering compositions stacked with a lush blend of piano and guitars, a skill they’ve put on display across the country. Notable performances include a recent concert on a moving plane for Southwest Airlines, and more recently at Red Rocks Amphitheater opening for The Fray. The band draws a wealth of inspiration from their home state, though Billboard says their "warm, retro-acoustic sound feels more like California than Georgia.“ A fitting description of a band that’s been likened to Jackson Browne and Dawes. ”We’re an Americana band in that our songs are reflections of our surroundings and experiences,” says lead guitarist, Charlie Mills.
Sister Moon
"Haunting yet warm vocals and the band’s use of dark abstract themes make for music that draws you into the shade even on the sunniest of days." — Libro Musica
Special Equestrians of Georgia
Our mission is to provide a nurturing therapeutic environment to help individuals facing physical, emotional, and mental challenges. ‚Äč
The Last Chance Riders
Fronted by a soulful powerhouse vocal, captivating guitar hooks and face melting leads, Last Chance Riders delivers a timeless rock ‘n roll, high-octane performance backed by an explosive rhythm section. Inspired by The Allman Brothers Band, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Janis Joplin and David Bowie - the Last Chance Riders have a broad blend of influences that result in a unique sound that is their own. The band plays original music and stays busy constantly writing new material. After the release of their first studio album “Jet Lag Super Drag” on June 22nd, Last Chance Riders will be touring throughout the Southeast with a powerfully engaging live set. The core band formed at a charity festival in Dahlonega, GA. Later in 2018 they joined forces with drummer, Shane Denmark and vocalist, Jessie Albright. Drawing on their exploration of numerous genres, their songwriting is inspired by driving classic guitar riffs with a southern rock vibe. Self-financed, the band went into Sonica Studios with award winning producer John Briglevich, to put together eight songs including the single, “Downright Disgusted,” which ties together common themes of the album with stories of hardship and endurance. Inspirational lyrics, passionate players and an unrelenting drive has brought The Last Chance Riders to the forefront of the Atlanta music scene.
Walden
Four friends from Athens, Georgia have started a revolution in rock music. Driven by passion and purpose, the band Walden seeks to evoke emotion and inspiration through their music and live performance. To do so, these young men have stripped away every stigma and stereotype associated with playing in a rock band to focus on what actually matters: the music, the message, and the people. Four guys with nothing but a passion for playing shows and creating music quickly became one of the biggest upcoming musical acts in Georgia, capturing the attention of audiences of all ages with their raw sound, infectious energy, and undeniable connection they share on stage. Walden's live performance truly shone when they won the 2017 Road to Bonnaroo competition for the state of Georgia. This competition generated a passionate and supportive following for the band in their hometown of Athens, GA . As a result of their growing popularity, Walden has also had the opportunity to open for well known acts such as Moon Taxi and Twiddle and further grow their fan base. These successes amount to nothing more than a stepping stone towards these four friends achieving their actual goal of playing and creating music together for the rest of their lives.
