The booth fee around the Courthouse Square and adjacent corners is $150.00 per booth. Booth assignments will be made at the discretion of the Arts & Crafts Committee. Booth locations will be assigned in order of receipt of applications, pending jury review of photos.  The committee will make every effort to honor past booth location requests for returning vendors from previous years.

FEE: Booth fees must accompany your application. If you are requesting a booth around the courthouse square and adjacent corners, please enclose one check for $150.00. If the bank returns your check, you will be charged an additional $30.00 handling fee.

Booth space will be available for the Kolache Bake Shoppe, outside under tents on Main Street in Downtown Caldwell for the September 9, 2022 Kolache Festival. These booth spaces are only for KOLACHES, PASTRIES, AND OTHER BAKED ITEMS for a fee of $35.00 for non-profit organizations and $50.00 for commercial entries. No commission is charged. Entry fee must accompany entry form by August 16th. Fees are payable to KOLACHE FESTIVAL and mailed to address at the bottom of this letter.

 

Booth space is 10’x10’ with a TENT COVERING PROVIDED. You need to bring your own display equipment and tables. NO OTHER SPACE WILL BE ALLOWED TO SELL KOLACHES. Posters or signs are permitted in booths stating name of organization or business. Booth area is to be kept as neat as possible. The City Police will provide a vehicle to help you bring your baked goods in after your first trip and will help for early dismissal when sold out. Each booth is to be clean at closing time with trash picked up and placed in proper receptacles. Closing time is at the end of the day-long festival. You may close your booth earlier if sold out.

1. Contestants will turn in a typed essay of 500 words or less on the topic: Preserving and 
Promoting Czech Heritage. The introductory paragraph of the essay must contain 
contestants name, address, birth date, name of school or college they are currently enrolled 
in and Czech descent information such as, but not limited to, parents, grandparents and 
great grandparents. The village of family origin in the Czech Republic, if known, can be 
included, but is not required. Essays must be turned in by August 18 by 12:00 pm at the 
Burleson County Chamber of Commerce – Caldwell office 301 N. Main. Late essays will not 
be accepted. 
2. Czech kroj (costume) is required at the presentation at the opening ceremonies.
3. Winner will be announced at the opening ceremonies of the Kolache Festival.
4. Winner will receive a $500 scholarship; payable after proof of enrollment in a college or 
 technical school is submitted. 

 

The winner must be present at 9:00 a.m. for the opening ceremonies of the Kolache Festival, wearing their Czech kroj, and stay at the festival throughout the day to visit the various venues, car show, antique equipment show, quilt show and to be present during the awards ceremony for the Kolache Bake Show. The winner must be prepared to represent the festival at other various Czech related events throughout the year.

 

 

Burleson County Fair Parade, Czech Heritage/Cultural events in La Grange, Temple, West and other 
possible Central Texas events.

 

Winner is responsible for providing transportation to these events and will receive a travel reimbursement when traveling over 25 miles to an event to promote the Caldwell Kolache Festival. Winner is also responsible for arranging their own car, truck or float for the Burleson County Fair Parade.
