About the event
The mission of the Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games is to preserve the heritage and culture of Scotland by fostering national and international sporting, dancing and music competition, as well as cultural performances of the Scottish clans, education, folklore, music, arts, piping, drumming, athletic events and other festivities in the area. The SMSFG shall remain a viable leader in family entertainment and good stewards of our assets, giving back to the community.

Health & safety
The Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games is an outdoor, rain or shine event held at the Greater Smokies Event Grounds (the grassy fields next to the Townsend Visitors Center). This is a walking event over somewhat uneven, grassy terrain, which may become muddy in rainy weather. Please dress appropriately for outdoor weather and extensive walking.

Grade III (EUSPBA Sanctioned MSR)

Grade IV (EUSPBA Medley)

Grade V (EUSPBA Approved Set)

1st Place: $325 - 2nd Place: $250 - 3rd Place: $175

 

Travel Assistance Funding: We are pleased to offer the first five bands to register $500.00 in travel assistance if registered by April 1st, 2026. The next five bands will receive $250.00 if registered by May 1st, 2026. To be eligible for travel assistance, bands must participate with a full roster in both massed band events on Saturday May 16. 

 

Extra Funding Available for Bands:  Those bands willing to play on Sunday May 17 from 11:00 until 3:00 are eligible for additional funding.  All that is requested is what constitutes a full competition band. Please contact John Rose if your band is interested in earning extra money. It does not have to be an all-day play.  

 

Extra: If time allows, as we receive entries, we will also provide an MSR set for Grade IV and Medley Set for Grade III as a bonus. 

Terms & Conditions
The Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games is a rain or shine event. Since we hold the event regardless of weather, we do not refund pre-purchased tickets or tickets purchased at the gate.
