2026 Fair Oaks Folk Festival

Creative Experience & Live Art: Vendors in this category are defined as local individual artists, artist collectives, guilds, or art studios who provide an interactive, visual, or educational element to the festival alongside the exhibition, promotion, or sale of their original work. 

To enhance the festival experience, applicants in this category must participate in one of the following approved formats:

• "Make & Take" Workshops: Vendors host hands-on, analog crafting or art sessions (e.g., watercolor, leather stamping, clay modeling) where attendees pay a direct fee to the vendor to create and keep a project.
• Live Art Showcase: Artists create original work live during the event (12:00pm–6:00pm) for public viewing. Completed live pieces may be sold directly by the artist or entered into a collaborative silent auction.
• Artist Collectives & Shared Booths: Local art leagues, guilds, or student groups may apply for a shared space to showcase and sell works from multiple member artists under a single collective banner.

Craft Vendors: Vendors in this category are limited to hand-crafted original work items. IF YOU DID NOT MAKE IT YOURSELF, YOU ARE NOT CONSIDERED A CRAFT VENDOR. 

Company: Vendors in this category are defined as a business that offers tangible products or services for purchase or informational in nature. This category also includes those that are recognized by CA BOE as 6015 retailers or qualified itinerants. If you are selling multiple product lines, you are required to purchase a booth space for each product. 

Advocacy / Campaign Booth: This category includes individuals, candidate committees, ballot measure committees, and advocacy organizations representing political candidates, elections, or public policy initiatives at the local, state, or federal level. This includes school board candidates, elected officials participating in campaign activity, political party organizations, and issue-based advocacy groups.

Advocacy or Campaign Booths may include informational outreach, distribution of literature, campaign messaging, and fundraising activities in support of their campaign, candidate, or advocacy cause. All fundraising activities must comply with applicable local, state, and federal election laws.

Campaign and advocacy-related applicants that do not qualify as a tax-exempt nonprofit organization must apply under this category. The District reserves the right to approve, deny, limit, or remove any Advocacy or Campaign Booth and to determine booth placement, quantity, and visibility to ensure a fair, balanced, and nonpartisan event environment.

Government / Public Agency: This category includes federal, state, county, and local government agencies, special districts, and other publicly funded entities participating in the event for official informational and community outreach purposes.

Government or Public Agency Booths are intended to provide information about public services, programs, resources, and community initiatives. Activities may include education, outreach, distribution of informational materials, and constituent services. Fundraising, solicitation of donations, and political campaign activity are not permitted under this category.

This category does not include political candidates, campaign committees, or advocacy organizations. The District reserves the right to approve, deny, limit, or relocate Government/Public Agency Booths to ensure appropriate placement and to maintain the purpose, balance, and nonpartisan nature of the event.

Non-Profit (Informational & Sales/Fundraising): Any applicant applying to participate in the event as a non-profit (informational or sales/fundraising) must provide evidence of their non-profit status. A non-profit organization is defined as one of the following:

A corporation incorporated pursuant to the Nonprofit Corporation Law that is exempt from taxation and can show proof with a valid IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter; or
An organization that was organized and is in operation for charitable purposes and meets the requirements of Section 214 of the Revenue and Taxation Code.
 

A maximum of 10% of available booth spaces will be allocated to Non-Profit vendors. Once all allocated Non-Profit booth spaces have been filled, additional non-profit organizations may re-submit an application under the Company or Craft vendor category, selecting the classification that most closely matches their intended activity.

If allocated Non-Profit booth spaces are not filled by the application deadline, remaining spaces will be reassigned to Company and Craft vendors.

Non-Profit Vendor Informational: Vendors in this category are limited to non-profit organizations whose sole purpose at the event is the distribution and dissemination of information and educational materials related to their mission.No sales, fundraising, or solicitation of donations is permitted.

Organizations that wish to conduct sales or fundraising activities must apply under the Non-Profit Vendor – Sales/Fundraising category.

Non-Profit Vendor Sales / Fundraising: Vendors in this category are limited to non-profit organizations that sell merchandise, conduct fundraising activities, or solicit donations in support of their organization’s mission.All items sold and fundraising activities must be directly related to the organization’s purpose.

Distribution of water or food is not permitted unless specifically approved and permitted by the District.
Vendors in this category may be subject to vendor fees, sales tax requirements, and all applicable event rules and regulations.
