About the event

The 2026 Christmas Light Up Parade returns to Little Elm on Saturday, December 5, 2026, bringing holiday cheer, festive floats, decorated vehicles, walking groups, and community spirit to the streets. This family-friendly parade is part of A Merry Little Elm Christmas and helps kick off the holiday season with lights, music, and celebration. Parade participants are encouraged to decorate their floats, vehicles, trailers, or walking units with a festive holiday theme and, where possible, lights. Santa will be available for photos as part of the evening’s holiday celebration. To help preserve the magic of the event, no additional Santa impersonators are permitted in the parade. All parade entries must follow the Town of Little Elm’s parade rules, safety requirements, staging instructions, and event guidelines. Final lineup details, staging information, route instructions, and arrival times will be shared with approved participants closer to the event.

Parking instructions

Parking, staging, and lineup instructions will be provided to approved parade participants closer to the event. Participants are responsible for following all assigned arrival times, staging instructions, parking directions, and parade route procedures. Late arrivals may not be permitted to participate.

Health & safety

All parade participants are expected to operate in a safe, respectful, and family-friendly manner. All vehicles must be street legal, properly insured, and operated by a licensed driver. Drivers must follow all parade rules, speed limits, route instructions, and directions from Town staff, public safety personnel, and parade volunteers. Alcohol, drugs, tobacco, open flames, pyrotechnics, and unsafe behavior are prohibited in the staging area and along the parade route. All parade drivers are required to complete a breathalyzer test before operating a vehicle in the parade. Failure or refusal to complete the test will result in removal from the parade.

Join us for the Christmas Light Up Parade on Saturday, December 5, 2026, as we kick off the holiday season in Little Elm.

This festive, family-friendly parade features decorated floats, vehicles, walking groups, school bands, local organizations, and businesses bringing holiday cheer to the community.

Parade entries are encouraged to incorporate lights, music, costumes, and creative holiday themes to create a memorable experience for spectators.

Parade staging will take place at The Cove. Detailed lineup instructions, arrival times, and route information will be provided to approved participants closer to the event.

Santa will be part of the official Town programming. To preserve the experience for children, no additional Santa impersonators are allowed in the parade.

Terms & Conditions

By submitting an application, participants acknowledge that this is a family-friendly holiday parade and agree to follow all event guidelines and safety requirements. Parade entries must be holiday-themed and appropriate for all ages. No additional Santa impersonators are allowed. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license and may be required to complete a breathalyzer test before operating a vehicle in the parade. The Town of Little Elm reserves the right to deny or remove any entry that does not comply with event rules or poses a safety concern.
