Painted on-site at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum with oil over casein paint on canvas. Features an oak tree whose branches "flow" along the sloping hillside. The autumn foliage blazes in the late evening sunlight against a background of distant woods. The texture of the foliage is enhanced by thick palette knife painting. Further textural contrast is provided by subtle spackling of the paint in the sky, and the dripping, granulating effect in the grass. The tree was painted in oil, and the grass and sky were created with a casein underpainting and finished with an oil glaze. The painting comes in a wood frame with a gold finish, complementing its vibrant colors. May also be purchased unframed by request. Framed dimensions 28x24x1".
