Diane Seeman holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Columbus College of Art and Design in Painting, where she also specialized in paper-making and printmaking. With this background it is easy to see how she has developed her style of painting today.
By combining the love of texture with her natural sense of color and design she creates her abstract works on paper and canvas. The paintings are bold and initially grabs the viewer's attention with the powerful colors, and organic shapes and lines, but upon closer investigation the subtle nuances and details that are developed through many layers of paint and paper come alive and keep the viewer intrigued. By layering acrylic paint and paste, handmade paper, watercolor crayons and colored pencils, and then removing some of those layers with a sander Diane can achieve the depth and details that are so important to the quality of her pieces.
Her work is in many corporate collections such as Graydon Law Firm, Toyota, 5/3rd Bank, Miller Valentine Group, Cincinnati Financial Corporation, Tri- Health, and many more. She also participates in Juried Art Shows across the country where she has received numerous awards, and has work in many private collections. Diane has two sons with husband Chris, a metal artist.
