I recently brought over 100 Pokémon cards to get an estimate for their value. Unfortunately, the experience turned into a disappointing display of dishonesty. Once I got back into my car I noticed one of my cards had gone missing when they gave them back. I went back to confront them, they said you can look around our store maybe you dropped it on the floor or check the parking lot outside but a couple of days later I saw the same card posted on their instagram at a card show they were attending in Dallas Texas.
When I approached the store about the situation, they quickly deflected. Before I even mentioned which card was missing, the clerk immediately said, "Hey, you know the card you said we stole, one of the other regulars actually sold that to us." This response was incredibly suspicious since I hadn't identified the card in question. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, the store shifted blame and avoided accountability.
