The Legacy of Copper Sculpture
For nearly 50 years, I’ve been creating Copper Sculpture. A passion that began with handmade tea light lanterns and a love for the creative process. In the early days, my wife Mary and I traveled across the country from our hometown of Austin, Minnesota, sharing our work at art shows and festivals.
Today, I craft my pieces from my studio in Fountain City, Wisconsin, inspired daily by the wildlife and beauty of the Mississippi River. Since the very beginning of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, I’ve had the honor of showcasing my work there and connecting with generations of art lovers.
Copper Sculpture has always been a family endeavor. Over the years, my brothers helped build display booths and contributed their own work. My daughter Bridget is the friendly face at the front desk, always ready with a brochure and a warm smile.
My nephew Zeke now designs and creates his own showcase Copper Sculptures. His work reflects his deep connection to the outdoors and brings a fresh energy to our collection.
My son Patrick has been part of this journey since he was four, when he first began “helping” in the shop. He now creates original Copper Sculptures of his own and runs a studio where he’s beginning to pass along the family craft to the third generation, my grandson Jackson.
Every Copper Sculpture you see is a piece of our family’s story. We hope it brings you as much joy as we’ve found in creating it.
