I like to make pottery that can be used. I enjoy the challenge of make a pot that, not only looks good, but feels comfortable and functions well. I fire my pots in a wood burning kiln that uses wood scrap left over from pallet making. The wood firing completes the process of decorating the pot. The flame and the ash touch the pot, modifying the clay and adding flashes and markings to the surface. I can guess the effects that I will get but never be sure. Below are just a few of my pieces.
