Leigh Anna Newell has spent many hours gazing out windows, taking in impressions + atmospheres of ever changing landscapes intent on capturing quiet. Drawn from memories + photographs, her tiny art depicts scenic views, flora + fauna found in her daily life. She delights in exploring various media, watercolor, ink, acrylic, silverpoint + pyrography, as well as different surfaces from traditional to unique, salvaged substrates of pistachio shells, matchsticks, nailheads... Though often confined by the limits of her body, her art presents a tiny escape, a fleeting moment of focus + rest, which she in turn offers to fellow travelers.
