All aboard for holiday magic at the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum’s most beloved tradition—Santa at the Depot! Kick off the season as Santa arrives in Temple on a real train, greeting families on the platform before meeting children for a take-your-own photo opportunity (by appointment only—book early, as spots fill fast!) inside the depot. This free community celebration continues throughout the museum with festive crafts, holiday treats, games, and cheerful surprises for kids and grown-ups alike. Capture memorable moments at holiday photo stations, explore the museum’s winter wonderland displays, and find one-of-a-kind holiday presents in the museum gift shop.

Don’t miss the magic as Santa rolls into Temple aboard a real BNSF train! Gather on the platform outside the historic Santa Fe Depot and feel the excitement as the whistle blows and Santa waves from the rails. Arrive by 9:30 AM to catch his grand arrival!

Holiday Sing-Along with the Chisholm Trail Chorus
Get into the holiday spirit as the Chisholm Trail Chorus fill the depot with festive cheer! Listen, sing along, and enjoy your favorite seasonal tunes performed live in this joyful celebration of music and community.
Magical Crafts & Reindeer Food!
Kids can get creative with festive hands-on fun! Make your own Winter Wonderland in a Bottle and mix up a special batch of reindeer food to sprinkle on Christmas Eve. It’s a little holiday magic to take home and share with Santa’s crew!
All Aboard the Trackless Train for Free!
The Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum is thrilled to debut its brand-new custom trackless train during this year’s Santa at the Depot event! Kids can climb aboard for a festive ride around the depot and experience the magic of the season on wheels—no tracks required!
