Plein Air for Beginners

Curious about Plein Air painting but not sure where to start? This beginner-friendly workshop is the perfect introduction. Taught by Alex Hamil—an experienced watercolor artist and organizer of a major Plein Air event—you’ll get hands-on guidance, a live demonstration, and the chance to try your hand at capturing the beauty of the outdoors. Not only will you learn the basics of outdoor painting, you’ll also discover the joy of being part of a welcoming, supportive artist community. Plein Air events are as much about connection and fun as they are about painting. Many artists are hesitant to try because they’ve never painted outdoors before—but that’s exactly what this class is designed for. Alex brings years of experience, encouragement, and a passion for helping artists take that leap. All skill levels are welcome.
