LGBTQ+ Speed Friending Event

Petaluma Pride pre-party Speed Friending event! Calling all 18+ LGBT+ folx in Petaluma and beyond… You’re invited to a FREE Speed Friending event at Luma Bar & Eatery in Petaluma on Friday 10/10 from 7-9 PM. (RSVP Ticket required due to limited space) Agenda for the evening: 7:00 –7:30 PM: Grab some food and drink from the bar and mingle freely 7:30 – 8:30 PM: Structured Speed Friending rounds 8:30 – 9:00 PM: Exchange numbers and socials with your new besties, continue a conversation, or approach someone you didn’t get to meet yet. In the structured Speed Friending rounds we will congregate in groups of three for three to five minutes. The hosts will provide a fun question to get the conversation started…or go rogue and chat about whatever you like. When time’s up, you’ll switch groups and be asked a new question. The goal of a structured Speed Friending round is to encourage us to meet people we might not otherwise, to provide some conversation prompts for the anxious or introverted, to satisfy the extroverts desire to meet everyone on the room, and to provide a container to spark connection so there is a friendly face at the Petaluma Pride events the next day or just around town. Together we are stronger! Without an official social gathering place for queer adults in Petaluma (or Sonoma County), this event serves as a place to connect, let down your guard among other queer folx, and feel a sense of community. Petaluma Prides provides the opportunity to meet other LGBT+ folx and you take the next steps to create lasting connections! You are not alone! Luma Bar & Eatery has generously offered to host us in their back room for free, thus allowing us to offer this event free of charge. We encourage you to support Luma by purchasing food and beverages from the bar or from the server assigned to our section. (And don’t forget to tip your bartender!) Your host, Dr. Sandy Peace, is a Petaluma-based psychologist and sex therapist providing online therapy to individuals, partners, and groups. She loves working with LGBT+ and polyamorous clients. She believes strong friendships and community ties foster positive mental health and has been an educator and community organizer for bisexual and polyamorous people throughout California.
