Making an impact in our local community

In 1947 a few dedicated men agreed that there should be an Orthodox congregation in Jacksonville. Private homes were used to conduct services until a vacated former Boys Home was purchased and used as a synagogue. This was the beginning of Etz Chaim. Today, maintaining the tradition and spirit on which Etz Chaim was founded, the shul is dedicated to providing a spiritual setting for the growing Jacksonville Jewish population. They are committed to outreach, providing classes and programs to our congregants as well as providing a home for those who are searching for greater depth in Judaism.
