Sketchtoberfest 2025: Lake City Sketch Crawl The Gateway Art Gallery is excited to announce Sketchtoberfest 2025: Lake City Sketch Crawl, a free community event celebrating the worldwide Inktober movement with a local twist. The event will take place on Saturday, October 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in historic downtown Lake City. The day begins with check-in at Gateway Art Gallery at 9:00 a.m., where participants can enjoy complimentary croissants and coffee before heading out for a morning of sketching. The crawl will guide artists through three downtown locations — the Courthouse Square, Lake DeSoto, and the Historic Blanche Hotel — with 30-minute sketching challenges at each stop. Sketch Challenges: Courthouse Square: Hatching & Crosshatching Lake DeSoto: Stippling Blanche Hotel: Expressive Linework (Thick & Thin) The crawl concludes back at Gateway Art Gallery with prizes, refreshments, and fun. Selected sketches from the day will be featured in the Gallery’s front window display. VIP ACCESS Participants can upgrade to a VIP Pass for $10. (Minors must be accompanied by an adult.) All participants must sign a liability waiver at check-in. Important Notes: Participants are asked to clean up after themselves.
