You will be expected to provide samples to the public in the peoples choice portion of the event. The winner of the peoples choice will go directly to the finals. People choice is determined by the public, dropping coupons ( provided by the festival ) into you own personal ballot box. Ballots are available for purchase for 1.00 each at the festival. A portion of the total votes in each ballot box will be given to that steak producer.. If you get 200 votes you will get 100 dollars...etc. We have not determined if you have a food truck, if you will be able to provide full service at the event yet. TBD . Then second round we have played with 2 ideas. we are not sure which way yet. There could be a panel of secret judges going around dabbling in samples, or they may be a timed round to deliver your best bite to the judges and they will take the 9 best. The final round of 10.. will be judged by " celebrity" type judges or influencers. To decide the best BITE of the day. The main thing is we are shinning a light on Pottstown Cheesesteak Culture that should not go unknoticed. . Attention brings more success. When the final rules and judging criteria are in stone, you will be notified by email . Lets get everyone registered and start the media push. This is not going to be an ordinary eating competition. It is going to be 1 cheesesteak This one sandwich will be on a 24" roll. They will all be weighed and will clock in at 50oz. I will have one steak shop as the contest steak maker on location. First person to show a clean mouth with no acceptable debris on the table or floor will the winner. Top 3 places will be paid. I'm trying to get this pay structure approved. 750-500-300 and everyone else who competes will get 150 show up money. No restrictions on who can enter.
