We will be limiting attendance and expect passes to sell out. The center will be under construction all year, so join us for a fun adventure as we navigate the joys of Hawaii construction together! -Notice- *The Hawaii Convention Center will be under construction for all of 2026. This will affect Kawaii Kon. The first event cannot start until Friday at 5pm. Public parking will not be available at the HCC. The majority of Kawaii Kon will take place in the exhibit halls, but there may be additional content on the third floor that can only be accessed by elevators or normal staircases. Due to the renovations, there may be changes to timing and what is available. We appreciate your understanding that Kawaii Kon has zero control over any of these variables, but we will continue to work with the HCC and post updates closer to the event once the construction project has started.*

Do you have a lot of merchandise to transport? We will provide info on how to ship items to the show closer to the event.

Weapons Vendors - UPDATED POLICY 2025
Vendors may only sell weapons for after-hours outside pick up, or mail order. All displays must be inside plexiglass cases as well as secured in a manner that attendees cannot remove the weapon. Attendees may not handle or touch any metal weapons at any point inside the convention center. Designated pick-up areas will be the rotunda near the statue at the front of the convention center, or in the parking deck after the dealers hall is closed.

Booth Placement 2026
All dealers will have an opportunity to select the booths they'd like to purchase within the map. These will be on a first come first serve basis.  If there is a particular layout out you would like for your booths, or someone you would like to be place near/away from, we encourage you to let us know when filling out your application. Dealers who have not selected their location by March 31st will be placed first come first serve by Kawaii Kon. This does not guarantee you that location as the entire layout may have to be adjusted based on updates with the HCC. We will attempt to keep any changes minimal, and we will inform you as soon as we confirm them.

18+ Area Here in the Exhibit Hall, we are working towards a more family friendly area where parents can bring their children without fear of seeing things that are inappropriate for their age group, as well as creating a comfortable environment for everyone. As such, Kawaii Kon has a new art policy as it pertains to 18+ material.

18+ Policy: In the main Ex Hall, all images and merchandise must ensure no lewd or sexually explicit content is visible. "Lewd" is defined as any content that is sexually suggestive, indecent, or intended to cause sexual arousal. This policy includes but is not limited to the following : adult material, nudity and partial nudity (for the purposes of this provision, the following definitions apply - Nudity means total absence of clothing or covering for the human body. - Partial Nudity means exposure of the female breast or the exposure of the male or female pubic area or buttocks.) sexually suggestive poses, excessive gore, or excessive violence, and pornography or otherwise excessive sexuality (hentai, yaoi, yuri) as it pertains to art. These include both artistic and photographic types. This policy applies to both visual artwork and physical merchandise. Non-lewd explicit content may be allowed, but if your product doesn't meet these guidelines you must modify it to ensure compliance from all angles. Temporary fixes such as post-it notes are not allowed. Any product that doens't meet these standards must be hidden and cannot be accessible to minors. Artwork can be in a binder or portfolio folder and handed to customers once ID has been verified. Merchandise items such as erotic body pillows, wall scrolls, etc. must be sold in a similar manner as artwork. A catalog binder with images of the items available for sale can be handed to customers once ID has been verified. Photo ID is still required to be able to view and access these items outside of the curtained area. Should a vendor be caught disregarding this new policy, they will be given a single warning. Upon second instance, they will be asked to close the shop immediately and leave at the end of the day.  To provide a safe environment, Kawaii Kon is introducing a new 18+ section that will be curtained off from the public domain. Government issued photo id will be required as proof of age to be able to enter this age restricted area. Inside this curtained area is open sell, no covering of materials is required. Displays extending above the curtain height, must show only materials that would otherwise be allowed in the main vendor area as per the above guidelines.

Food Vendors -Policy All food items must ultimately be granted approval for sale by the Hawaii Convention Center.  Vendors interested in selling these types of items will be sent a separate application for the Convention Center food and Catering Department, as well as be provided with the link for food vending Permits for the State of Hawaii.  Vendors who do not get prior approval for food sales will risk immediate ejection from the event and/or fines from the convention center.

COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines We request that all participants of Kawaii Kon please be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. We have not yet determined our exact COVID-19 policies, but VENDORS must follow all sanitation protocols established for the convention such as wearing a mask and using hand sanitizer. We will provide updates via email and upon checking in. If you are feeling sick the week of the convention or have been exposed and are not vaccinated, please stay home. We will transfer your table to next year. ITS COMPLICATED is not responsible in any manner for any risks related to COVID-19 in connection with the event. The World Health Organization has classified the COVID-19 outbreak as a pandemic and that COVID-19 is a highly contagious and dangerous disease, and that contact with the virus that causes COVID-19 may result in significant personal injury or death regardless of vaccination status. Kawaii Kon is complying with all state, local, and Hawai’i Convention Center safety protocols regarding COVID-19.  For more information regarding the Safe Oahu Response Plan (formerly Honolulu’s Tier System), please visit the Safe Oahu website HERE:https://www.oneoahu.org/safe-oahu-response-plan

Terms & Conditions
Kawaii Kon expects a level of acceptable and reasonable behavior from all members. Please have consideration for all Attendees, Guests, and Kawaii Kon Staffers, as well as for the individuals who are attending other events at the Hawaii Convention Center. Any violation of these rules may result in suspension of their pass(es) and even a permanent ban from Kawaii Kon and its sister entities. Any attendee caught breaking a state or federal law at Kawaii Kon will be reported to local authorities. Kawaii Kon has the right to revise the Code of Conduct at any time and for any reason without notice. Consent to Photography Any photographs or videos of attendees taken by Kawaii Kon Crew in an official capacity may be used or published by Kawaii Kon without further consent of the attendees being recorded. Flash photography and/or recording of any kind are strictly prohibited during concert events, with the exception of official Kawaii Kon Press Crew and pre-approved members of the press. Behavior Kawaii Kon strives to provide a safe and fun environment for all those who attend the convention. Behavior such as, but not limited to moshing or running will not be tolerated at any time for any reason during any convention events. Individuals who engage in such behavior will receive a verbal warning for a first time violation; any further misconduct will result in confiscation of their pass for the remainder of the convention. Smoking/Vaping is only permitted in pre-designated areas at the Hawaii Convention Center. Please have your pass visible and on your person at all times – it identifies you as a fully paid attendee of the convention. Please consider how your words and actions reflect on the convention and how they might impact those around you, as most of the convention activities and areas are directed at general audiences (PG-13). Please keep in mind that other individuals’ opinions may differ from your own. Do not engage in heated discussions with an individual(s). If you are unsure whether something is appropriate to do in public, please consult with the Kawaii Kon Public Safety Department. If you notice others are uncomfortable with your cosplay or your activities, please stop immediately. We take pride in our appearance and we want you to do so as well while still having fun. To this effect, Kawaii Kon Managers have final say on all matters. Costumes and Clothing Any indecent exposure (public exposure of genitalia, buttocks or breasts/nipples), regardless of gender, is not permitted. When choosing and/or creating your cosplay, please keep in mind the constraints of local laws and customs concerning public decency. While a character may wear one item of clothing, that does not fall into guidelines. Should you choose to cosplay, please keep in mind that costumes should be sturdy and fitted, and already be on you and in one piece. Also, remember to have proper support such as bras and/or athletic cups, especially if you plan to be physically active, i.e., dancing. If you have a bulky or large cosplay, please be aware of your surroundings. Try not to hit other attendees, cause a disruption, or block access, in accordance with ADA guidelines. You are responsible for your own cosplay and should respect those around you. Upon leaving the Hawaii Convention Center, please keep in mind that not everyone is aware of your intent to dress up, and may mistake your prop for an actual weapon. If you plan to venture out while still in cosplay, we advise that you safely store away props beforehand. Harassment and Assault “No” means “no.” Do not touch or photograph anyone without their express permission. Harassment is any behavior that seriously annoys or alarms another person. This includes, but is not limited to: Unwanted physical contact Following someone in a public area Verbal assaults Threatening physical violence. An offender may lose their badge and the matter may be referred to the proper law enforcement authorities. If you are being harassed, immediately contact a nearby member of the Kawaii Kon Crew or Hawaii Convention Center Security. Kawaii Kon Crew and Security personnel have the right to remove an attendee’s badge for not following the rules and their commands, and may eject a person from the convention. Buying, Selling, and Solicitation Kawaii Kon has a few main areas where merchandise is sold – Dealers Room and Artist Alley. Anyone who receives payment for goods in the convention space must comply with all the convention’s rules regarding this. For any sale of merchandise, the exhibitor rules apply. Other restrictions may also apply. Kawaii Kon takes its obligations in this area very seriously. Any solicitation at the convention, whether verbal or use of signage for monetary payment or exchange of services that does not comply with these restrictions, is prohibited. Some examples of prohibited solicitation or sale are musicians requesting tips, setting up artwork in for sale in the common areas, and passing out signs or cards to solicit a business in areas other than the aforementioned commerce areas. Violation of these rules may result in the offender forfeiting their pass, returning all payments, and facing expulsion from the convention area. Please also note that certain solicitations are ILLEGAL and will result in immediate membership pass forfeiture and possible referral to the proper law enforcement authorities. Offering favors of a sexual nature for sale, such as kisses, hugs, dates, gropes, spankings, etc., are strictly prohibited as they may be viewed as forms of prostitution. Attempts to circumvent any of these rules such as throwing money and merchandise on the ground and other such tactics are also prohibited. Liability Kawaii Kon, its personnel, and its affiliates are not responsible for any damage, theft, injury, or loss. Attendees of the convention are responsible for their own actions and belongings as well as for any resulting repercussions. Kawaii Kon Crew is on hand to assist in any situation. However, any civil or medical emergencies that may occur must be handled directly by the appropriate authorities. Final Word Kawaii Kon reserves the right to remove any attendee from the Hawaii Convention Center grounds for any reason deemed unsafe or harmful to others or for repeated failure to follow the rules. Attendee acknowledges that it has been informed that there may be construction activities at the Center during Kawaii Kon. Licensee hereby waives and releases Kawaii Kon for any claims or damages caused by any type of construction inconvenience or nuisance at the Center during its event, including but not limited to noise, dust, construction smells, and machinery.
