Junior IMN 2026 Day Camp

Junior Indiana Master Naturalist is BACK at the EEC this summer! The mission of the Junior Indiana Master Naturalist program is to bring together natural resource specialists with young people, age 9-12 years, to foster an understanding of Indiana’s plants, water, soils and wildlife, and promote volunteer service in local communities. Junior IMN is a way for youth to learn, explore, and share knowledge about Indiana's natural resources through volunteer service, and hosts sites (such as the EEC) can foster this by offering monthly programs or day camps. Kids aged 9-12 will get to discover more about the natural world around them in this day camp. Each day, kids will learn about a different environmental topic with guest speakers, participate in fun activities, and work towards completing their 6 volunteer service hours. At the end of camp, kids who have met the program requirements (attended and participated in at least 80% of the sessions and completed their 6 volunteer hours) will receive an official Junior IMN patch and certificate! Day camp takes place on Monday, June 15th, to Thursday, June 25th at the EEC from 9 AM - 1:30 PM each day (We will NOT be meeting on Friday, June 19th, as it is a city holiday). There are two extra dates this year to accommodate an orientation session the evening of Friday, June 12th, and a graduation ceremony for all of the new Junior IMNs the evening of Friday, June 26th. Registration is $75 per child. Advanced registration is required by Friday, May 29th. The EEC is hosting in partnership with the Elkhart County Parks.
