Ghoulish golden retrievers, devilish dachshunds, and terrifying terriers roam the streets of downtown Albany at this annual dog trick-or-treating event. Hounds of Halloween features a Canine Costume Contest with prizes for the winners, dog trick-or-treating at dozens of Downtown Albany businesses, and Yappy Hour specials at participating bars and restaurants.

Parking instructions
On-street parking is free in downtown Albany on weekends. Flat-rate event parking is also available in the ParkAlbany Quackenbush and Riverfront Garages. Go to for more information.
Health & safety
1. Dogs must remain on-leash at all times during Hounds of Halloween.
2. Before bringing your pet inside a restaurant or other business, please ask, as not all participating businesses may allow pets indoors.
3. Pet parents, please be mindful of your dog's demeanor at all times to avoid uncomfortable encounters and ensure the safety of your pet.
4. Use pedestrian crossing signals and stay alert when navigating busy streets.
5. Remember to keep your pup hydrated throughout the day.
6. Be mindful and respectful of boundaries for other people and pets, and remember to clearly communicate your own boundaries when it comes to personal space, petting, and interacting with other animals.
7. Bring poop bags, and please clean up after your pet!
