Join the MLK Renaissance Committee and the City of Dania Beach in celebrating Juneteenth, the oldest nationally recognized commemoration of the end of slavery in the U.S. It marks June 19, 1865, when news of emancipation finally reached the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Enjoy a day of reflection, culture, and community with live music, food, and family-friendly activities.
