Compassion at the Crosswalk

Sarasota — our community was assaulted. When our Pride crosswalk was painted over, it was more than paint that was erased; it was an attempt to silence visibility, pride and belonging. We know the pain of being targeted, and we stand with all who carry grief and trauma. As we continue to remember the 49 lives taken at Pulse Nightclub, and honor the families whose wounds have been reopened by the erasure of the Pulse memorial crosswalk, we hold space together — for sorrow, for resilience, for compassion. Join us on Saturday, October 4 at 6:30pm as we gather at the 2nd Street/Coconut/N. Pineapple crosswalk to stand in solidarity. Let's remind every family, every survivor, every neighbor: you are not alone.
