City of Oaks Comicbook Odyssey (COCO) is Raleigh’s new comic-book-first convention—a three-day celebration of comic books, creativity, and community. COCO brings together comic book shops, professional artists, independent creators, writers, illustrators, and fans for a focused exhibitor experience built around the heart of the industry: the art, the stories, and the people who create them.

 

With a curated exhibitor floor, featured guest artists, special appearances, and programming for collectors, readers, and aspiring creators, COCO offers a welcoming space for exhibitors to connect with motivated fans and buyers. Our intimate venue design prioritizes visibility, strong foot traffic, and a high-quality experience for both exhibitors and attendees.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at City of Oaks Comic Book Odyssey (COCO). This application helps us learn about your availability, interests, and preferred roles so we can place you where you’ll be most helpful and ensure a smooth, enjoyable event for everyone. Volunteers play an essential role in supporting COCO. Volunteer opportunities are available across multiple departments throughout the event weekend, assisting with guest experiences, registration and entry flow, panels and programming, merchandise, and general event operations. Shifts vary by day and role. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for at least two shifts when possible, and those who commit to two or more shifts will be given scheduling priority. Volunteers who are only able to commit to one shift are still welcome to apply and will be considered based on event needs. Training and on-site guidance are provided. Volunteers are expected to follow event guidelines and staff instructions at all times.
