If circuitry scares you but you dream of cosplays/props with lights and special effects, come get hands on in this interactive workshop! Engineer and master cosplayer StarsOfCassiopeia will teach you the basics of electronics prototyping (breadboarding) and circuit design, leveraging a Raspberry Pi with prewritten code to make a set of LEDs blink on and off. We will also implement on/off switches, discuss additional special effects components, and discuss how to translate breadboarded circuitry to your final props & costumes. The kit of components is yours to keep at the end of class, so you can turn it into next year's amazing build!

EVA foam is a versatile material commonly used for making cosplay props and armor — but how do you make foam look like metal, wood, or any other material? This workshop will cover the basics of EVA foam and demonstrate the principles of weathering and material manipulation in a hands-on experience.

EVA foam is a versatile material commonly used for making cosplay props and armor — In this workshop we will educate you on the different kinds of foams and their applications within Cosplay and Prop-Making. Class participants will be provided the materials, tools, and instruction for a hands-on experience making and priming a unique EVA foam dagger as an entry level build project into working with EVA foam prop making. All participants get to take home what they've created!
