2025 Christmas Light-Up Parade
Terms and Conditions
1. Careful consideration must be given to float construction and decorations. Be aware of street lamps, wires, trees, and curves along the parade route. It is strongly recommended that you view and drive the parade route before December 5.
2. All entries must be decorated with a holiday theme (e.g., lights, wreaths, Christmas trees, snowmen, reindeer, Santa's elves). Since this is a nighttime parade, lights are highly recommended.
3. If you plan to decorate your float at the staging area, bring your own materials. Participants are responsible for the setup, breakdown, and removal of all trash or materials before the parade begins. Parade volunteers will be monitoring this area and appreciate your cooperation.
4. All decorations must be properly secured to prevent detachment during movement.
5. Parade entries may be denied if deemed controversial, overly political, or religious in nature. Please reach out with any questions before the event.
6. To avoid confusion for children, no additional Santa impersonators are allowed. The official Santa will appear only on the final float provided by the Town of Little Elm.
7. Holiday-themed costumes or attire are strongly encouraged.
8. No items may be sold from floats or vehicles during the parade.
9. Explosives, pyrotechnics, or open flames are strictly prohibited.
10. All participants ride or march at their own risk. The Town of Little Elm, its elected officials, employees, agents, volunteers, and affiliates assume no responsibility for any injuries, property damage, or losses during the event.
11. Floats must be able to accommodate all riders safely. Each rider must be seated or have a reinforced handhold. Small or low-profile vehicles may be prohibited if they fall below the line of sight of surrounding units.
12. Riders are responsible for their safety while on floats or vehicles.
13. Marching bands and performance groups assume full responsibility for the safety of their members and any interaction with the public or surrounding units.
14. Use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco by any parade participant is prohibited at the lineup area and along the route.
15. Parade vehicles must not exceed a maximum speed of 6 mph.
16. Parking for floats and vehicles is the responsibility of each group's designated contact.
17. All parade drivers must have a valid driver's license and must be experienced in operating their vehicle.
18. All parade drivers may be asked to complete a breathalyzer test administered by authorized personnel before the parade. Any driver who fails or refuses the test will not be permitted to operate a vehicle in the parade. Substitute drivers must also meet all requirements, including a valid license and passing a breathalyzer test.
19. The parade will begin at Little Elm High School (1900 Walker Lane) and end at Lobo Stadium (1151 E. Eldorado Parkway).
20. Participants may not jump onto or off of any unit at any time and must not interfere with other parade entries.
21. Lineup begins at 5:30 p.m. The parade will start promptly at 7:00 p.m. Late arrivals will not be permitted to participate.
22. Required release and liability forms must be submitted no later than Monday, December 1, 2025. Entries without completed and signed forms will not be allowed to participate. If using Eventeny, all waivers and acknowledgment checkboxes must be completed during the application process.
23. The Town of Little Elm reserves the right to deny or remove any entry at any time for failure to comply with these rules or if a unit poses a safety risk or disrupts the overall event.
24. This is a rain-or-shine event. In the event of severe weather or unforeseen circumstances, the Town of Little Elm may delay, cancel, or adjust the parade at its sole discretion. No refunds or guarantees of participation will be issued for cancellations.
25. By submitting a float application, all participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Town of Little Elm, its elected officials, employees, agents, volunteers, and affiliates from any and all claims, losses, damages, or expenses arising from participation in the parade.
26. By participating, you grant permission to the Town of Little Elm to use any photos, videos, or recordings taken during the event for promotional purposes, including print, web, and social media.
27. Final decisions regarding parade operations, entry eligibility, and lineup order rest solely with the Town of Little Elm.
