FLOAT CATEGORY DESCRIPTION:
Parade entries are encouraged to be creative through costumes, materials, and ideas when developing their entries. HOLIDAY LIGHTS, LIGHTS, LIGHTS! is this year’s theme. Let’s light up Water Street! This is a lighted night parade, the incorporation of lights is mandatory.
FLOAT ENTRY:
- CASH PRIZE AWARD CATEGORY
- Floats are qualified as a “Uniquely Created Traveling Unit” cars, trucks, or general motor
vehicles decorated with lights does NOT qualify as a Float
- Float entries require a separate “Float Description” describing the intended entry, this is
separate from the required Parade Script
- Float Type: (See Float Type Samples Attached)
Motorized Float (Vehicle, Golf Cart,…..)
Trailer Float (Decorated Trailer towed by a motorized vehicle)
Push Float (Manually operated, pushed or pulled manually
Walking Float (Individual Becomes the Float)
FLOAT ENTRIES MUST FIT WITHIN ONE OF THE FOUR TYPES OF FLOATS OUTLINED WITHIN THE FLOAT CATEGORY. To assist in choosing float type, see Float Type Samples Attached for additional information.

Independent Band
All participants and equipment must be dropped off and picked up outside the Parade Staging area. Please plan ahead.
· Band transport vehicles are NOT PERMITTED as part of entry (unless Independent Band is playing on/in vehicle, such as an open trailer), no transport busses, no box trucks, no box trailers, etc.., such vehicles will not be allowed within the Parade Staging area.
· Entry to include band participants only
· Participant Pick-Up after the parade designated on Magnesium St.
· School Bus Parking / Equipment Trailer Parking designated on Magnesium St.
· BANDS ONLY! ALL BANDS WILL EXIT the Parade Route using W. Victory Rd. at Iron St.
PLEASE LET ALL PARENTS, CHAPERONES, etc... know where student pick-up/bus parking will be.
Official Cheer Team / Military or Performance Squad Category Description:

- Minimum 10 people, per entry / Maximum 50, per entry
- This is not a “General Walking Group Category or Dance School/Dance Class Category” Cheer/Drill Team entry must be an official Nevada School Affiliated Cheer/Drill Team Group or Official Sports Team Cheer/Dance/Drill Team. This category includes ROTC and Performance / Drill Squads.
- All participants and equipment must be dropped off and picked up outside the Parade Staging area. Please plan ahead.
- Transport vehicles are NOT PERMITTED as part of entry, no busses, no box trucks, no box trailers, etc.., such vehicles will not be allowed within the Parade Staging area.
- 1 vehicle allowed if it is providing music for the entry (vehicle must be decorated)
- School Bus Parking / Equipment Trailer Parking designated on Magnesium St.
- All performances to be done while progressing down the parade procession, no stopping to perform, no stunts, no drill showcase, etc…. Entry must keep pace with parade procession.
- Please tell all Parents, Chaperones, and Participants where Parking / Participant / Student Pick-Up is located.
