The Homestead Conference, a production of The Ploughshare Institute for Sustainable Culture, is a gathering of artisans and agrarians which brings together some of the most accomplished homesteaders along with award-winning craftsmen to present indispensable information and education for folks seeking to learn how to sustain their families and communities from the land. The Homestead Conference presenters have hundreds of years of combined homesteading and farming experience and the craftsmen speaking at the conference have received numerous awards in addition to being accomplished teachers. By bringing all these presenters together with vendors of homesteading supplies and equipment, the conference is a catalyst for a vibrant, holistic agrarian culture, fostering and nurturing the development of local food and craft and resulting in an alternative land-based economy that sustains families and communities.
