Author/illustrator understands that the space size leased shall accommodate his/her unit. Space is limited, and all equipment, supplies, and displays must be located within the dimensions of the designated space. Please note that the overall appearance of your area, as well as any persons assisting you within your area, are considered for involvement in future events. Authors/illustrators agree to keep their lease space and surrounding area clean and clear of all garbage and debris.
Independent authors/illustrators are not allowed to share booths. However, co-authors or an author and illustrator of a publication are allowed to be in the same booth.
- NOTE: Co-authors or author and illustrator of pending publications are not allowed to share a booth. Booth sharing is only available to authors/illustrators that have published work together or work will be published by April 11, 2020
Load-in will be Saturday, April 11, 7 - 8 a.m. The location of your booth will be indicated in the author/illustrator packet, which is mailed 3-4 weeks prior to the event. The Jekyll Island Book Festival Committee (JIBFC) determines the locations and load-in time of all booths and decisions made by the committee are final.
- Authors/illustrators are assigned a specific load-in time and must comply. Authors/illustrators must come prepared to handcart his/her work in if assigned time is missed. Handcarts not provided.
- All authors/illustrators arriving after 9 a.m. will not be allowed in under any circumstance.
Jekyll Island Authority will not be able to provide change banks.
Authors/illustrators are responsible for collecting and reporting all Georgia Sales Tax: http://dor.georgia.gov/sales-use-tax

An accepted application is a commitment to participate in Jekyll Island Book Festival which is an outdoor rain or shine event. Therefore, there will be NO REFUNDS for any reason, including an Act of God, after an author/illustrator is accepted into the festival.
Booth Information:
No early teardowns or departures. Vendor must be present at their booth and “Open-for-Business” by 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 11 and remain open during festival hours until completion of the event at 3 p.m.
- Vendors who break down displays or depart before closing time of the Festival will not be allowed to return for future events
Electricity is not available. Solar powered/battery operated devices are advised and Whisper quiet generators are allowed. If the generator is loud, and there are complaints, the author/illustrator will be asked to turn it off and must comply.
Additional chairs and 6’ tables are available for rent. Please indicate on the application.
All materials must be contained within the assigned area. The author/illustrator’s display cannot extend outside the tent or into another space. Authors/illustrators must provide his/her own signage. All banners must have grommets to be attached at top of the tent and cannot exceed 8’x8’. Additional signage must be kept within assigned booth space.
I have reviewed this entire application and agree to abide by the requirements set forth by this application. Furthermore, by signing below I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Jekyll Island Authority from any claims whatsoever arising for my participation as an author and any theft loss, or damage to the person or property of the undersigned while in possession of under the supervision of Jekyll Island Authority during the Jekyll Island Book Festival. No refunds or credits will be issued for author cancellation, inclement weather cancellation, or acts of God. By signing this agreement, I agree to allow the Jekyll Island Authority and its contracted photographer/videographer to photograph and video my/business appearance at the event without further compensation.
