About the event

Come shop, play, tour and make memories during this 79-year-old tradition -- the Waterford Foundation's "Waterford Fair"! The Fair is the mid-Atlantic's quintessential fall festival with demonstrating fine heritage & contemporary craft artisans, living historians, a juried art show, historic properties tour, local libations, Waterford Craft School talks & workshops, and entertainment for all ages. Located in the National Historic Landmark of Waterford (f. 1733), this unique village is situated in Western Loudoun County, Virginia. Noted as "DC's Wine Country", we are only 50 minutes from the District of Columbia. Tickets go on sale in August. Children (12 & under) & Foundation members FREE! Ticket types: VIP, Early Bird (Fri only), youth, single day, military, 3-day passes and seniors (over 65). Greet fairgoers and share property details from your station in or on the grounds of a historic Waterford home or building.

Terms & Conditions

Volunteer positions are a minimum of 4 hours to receive a free Fair ticket. We will be following the CDC's and Commonwealth of Virginia's health safety guidelines and all volunteers will be required to do so as well. Expectations will be addressed as we get closer to the Fair. As an ambassador for the Foundation, welcoming visitors to Waterford, please follow the golden rule and treat fairgoers, residents, staff and other volunteers as you would wish to be treated. Be polite, helpful and if you are unable to assist someone find someone who can (e.g., your supervisor, information booth, sheriff's deputy, EMTs, staff, etc.). Waterford is a historic village and many of the properties are not accessible by wheel chair. If you have any special needs we should be made aware of regarding the projects you are volunteering for, please add a note in the application. Dress: business casual dress/casual dress is fine. Please dress for the weather but do not wear shorts or ripped shirts. Comfortable walking shoes are a must. This is a rain or shine event. Volunteers must have their own transportation to and from their shift(s). By entering the Fair premises, you consent to being filmed and/or photographed for promotional purposes. Any person desiring not to have their photo/video taken or distributed must contact oldschool@waterfordfoundation.org in writing of his/her/their intentions before the event.
