"A Whoville Christmas in Thomaston" 8th Annual Christmas Lights Parade Christmas is coming to downtown Thomaston—and this year, we're celebrating with a little Whoville magic! Join us for the 8th Annual Christmas Lights Parade, featuring beautifully decorated floats, festive vehicles, local organizations, community groups, businesses, and plenty of Christmas spirit as the parade makes its way through historic downtown Thomaston. Whether you're a Who from Whoville, a Whoville visitor, or just a Christmas lover, there's something for everyone! 🎄 **PARADE SCHEDULE** **4:00 PM–6:00 PM** 🎅 Santa at the Courthouse Bring the kids to visit Santa and get into the Christmas spirit before the parade! **4:00 PM–9:00 PM** 🍴 Specialty Food Vendors Enjoy delicious food and holiday treats around the Courthouse and at our local eateries throughout the evening. **3:00 PM–5:30 PM** 🚗 Parade Setup Parade participants should arrive during this window for setup. **5:30 PM–6:30 PM** 🏆 Parade Judging Floats and entries will be judged during this time. **7:00 PM** ✨ Christmas Lights Parade Begins! The parade will travel through downtown Thomaston. Come downtown, grab some Christmas goodies, visit Santa, enjoy the lights, and celebrate the holiday season with the Thomaston community!

Whether you're greeting guests, assisting parade entries, or keeping the event running smoothly, your time and enthusiasm help create an unforgettable experience for thousands of visitors. Volunteer opportunities are available for individuals, families, community organizations, schools, and businesses. No experience is necessary—just a positive attitude and a willingness to help! Volunteer positions may include: Parade Staging Vendor Check-In Information Tent Parking Assistance Hospitality General Event Support Photography & Social Media Cleanup Crew Thank you for helping us celebrate the holiday season while creating new memories for our community. We couldn't do it without you!

Terms & Conditions

Volunteer Terms & Conditions By submitting this application, I acknowledge and agree to the following: Volunteer Commitment I understand that volunteering is a commitment to the City of Thomaston and Thomaston Main Street, and I will make every effort to fulfill my scheduled shift(s). If I am unable to attend, I will notify the event organizer as soon as possible. Check-In I agree to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to my scheduled shift for check-in and instructions. Conduct I will conduct myself in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner while representing the City of Thomaston and Thomaston Main Street. I understand that inappropriate behavior, including harassment, discrimination, or disruptive conduct, may result in my removal from the event. Safety I will follow all safety instructions provided by event staff. I will immediately report accidents, injuries, safety hazards, or emergencies to an event supervisor. Weather The Christmas Lights Parade is a rain-or-shine event unless otherwise determined by event officials. I understand that schedules may change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. Photography I understand that photographs and video may be taken during the event and may be used by the City of Thomaston and Thomaston Main Street for promotional purposes without compensation. Liability I understand that I am volunteering at my own risk and will exercise reasonable care while performing assigned duties. Assignments I understand that volunteer assignments may change based on event needs and agree to assist where needed. Youth Volunteers Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian unless participating through an approved school or organization. Event Policies I agree to follow all event policies, staff directions, and applicable City of Thomaston rules and regulations.
