About the event

Queen City Anime Con is the Charlotte area’s premiere anime convention, focused on celebrating fandoms through engaging performances, cosplay, and community experiences. Come enjoy a 3-Day Weekend of celebration and fun! Hang out in the game room, or meet some of your favorite voice actors. Participate in our cosplay contest, or stay to watch our awesome shows!

About the application

It all begins with passion. Passion is what drives our team of staff and volunteers to bring Queen City Anime Convention to life every year. You can transform your hobby into something more and forge connections in an inclusive space filled with acceptance, creativity, and love. Perhaps you'd like to support entertainers backstage, assist panelists, help attendees seeking ADA accommodations, lend a hand to busy artists and vendors, or maybe you have a creative idea to enhance the event. There are countless ways to contribute, and your passion could be the key to creating even more positive experiences for our attendees, guests, staff, and volunteers. **Under 18 volunteers, must have a guardian on staff or volunteering with them.** For helping us out each volunteer will be given the following based on how many hours they work: 4 Hours - 25% off your badge 8 Hours - 50% off your badge 10 hours - 50% off and 1 skip the line passes for any event 14 hours - 75% off and 2 skip the line passes for any event 16 hours - 100% off your badge and 4 skip the line passes for any event Note - The percentage discount only applies to GA badges and not VIP

Terms & Conditions

If your application is approved, you will be expected to abide by the following Rules of Reasonable Conduct. Please review. RULES OF REASONABLE CONDUCT: Attendance Staff undertake to be present at the Event from the Event Starting Date to the Event Ending Date unless a different arrangement is agreed upon in writing at least 72 hours prior to the Event Starting Date. Appearance While on duty at the Event, Staff shall adhere to clean, appropriate attire standards, avoiding any violation of the Event's Code of Conduct and ensuring personal hygiene is maintained. Sexual Harassment Sexual harassment in any form is strictly prohibited and requires immediate reporting to a Lead or Director. A violation of this clause will lead to swift action, potentially including removal from the Event, termination of any ongoing relationship with Queen City Anime and it's affiliates, and forfeiture of benefits, as well as immediate eviction from any hotel room covered or subsidized by the Hosting Company. Use of Equipment Upon checking out equipment, all Staff, Contractors, and Vendors accept full responsibility for the said equipment, encompassing but not limited to radios, headsets, laptops and tablets. Failure to return the equipment in the same condition as received may result in benefit deductions, up to the replacement cost of the device(s). Alcohol and Drugs Staff unequivocally agree not to consume alcohol or drugs while on duty at the Event or be under their influence at any time while acting as a representative of the Event or the Hosting Company. If Staff are under twenty-one (21) years of age, they shall refrain from consuming alcohol throughout the Contract period. Staff further agree not to provide alcohol to individuals under the age of twenty-one (21). Any awareness of other Staff violating this clause requires promptly reporting such incidents to the Hosting Company. Violation of this provision will result in immediate removal from the Event, termination of the ongoing relationship with the Hosting Company, forfeiture of benefits, and potential eviction from any hotel room funded or subsidized by the Hosting Company. Adherence to Rules and Guidelines Staff agree to follow the full Code of Conduct provided by the Hosting Company (always available in the QCAC Staff Discord Server, on the Event website, or by request).
