About the application

Takes place on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026. We are looking for talented carpenters and woodworkers who want to showcase their craftsmanship in our Wooden Pallet Competition at Evening of the Arts on July 25th. This competition is an opportunity to demonstrate creativity, skill, and originality by transforming wooden pallets into a unique finished creation for public display and bidding. All projects must be built off-site and brought to the event fully completed—this is not an on-site build competition. The competition will take place live during Evening of the Arts on July 25th. Competitors must be present during the event to display their work from 3:00 PM–8:00 PM. Load-in will take place prior to 3:00 PM. Each participant will receive a 10x10 booth space. In addition to their competition piece, participants are welcome to promote their services or sell additional handmade items from their booth space. Each entry will be featured for public bidding during the event, with artists selecting their own starting bid price. An official bid sheet will be provided in advance, and participants must indicate their preferred method of payment prior to the event. Competition Rules: Participants may use up to (6) pallets in their build. The city will provide pallets to the first 3 entries. Additional materials are allowed; however, the finished project must consist of at least 80% pallet wood. Any violation of the rules will result in disqualification.
