About the event

Join the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District for the 16th Annual Fair Oaks Chicken Festival. General admission and parking are free! Festivities span over the course of the day and at various locations with the main event happening at Fair Oaks Park between 3pm-8pm. Main Event Festivities (3pm-8pm) include live music by Mullet Mechanix & FBI BAND, a food court presented by SactoMoFo, craft and community vendor booths, a kid's area, craft beer booth presented by Fair Oaks Rotary Foundation, a Cluck n' Crow contest presented by Kiwanis Club of Orangevale - Fair Oaks, cornhole tournament, VIP experiences, community spirit, and much more! Pop Up Events include the Fair Oaks Villge Bawk Party (Sept. 15 between 5p-7p) and the annual Pancake Breakfast (Sept 18th between 7:30a-10:00a) presented by the Fair Oaks & Orangevale Grange #354. The event will also go hybrid! For those not quite ready to immerse themselves in a crowd, many portions of our event will be available for live streaming, offer online content for home viewing, and allow for online shopping of vendor booths. Please complete this application form if you are interested in becoming a volunteer at the 2021 Fair Oaks Chicken Festival. You can select your area of interest at the event as well as a time slot. Please read all sections of this application carefully.

Terms & Conditions

I understand and agree that submitting this application form does not automatically register me as a volunteer, and that there may be certain qualifications I must meet, including the acceptance of established volunteer policies and procedures before I may begin volunteering. By submitting this form, I attest that the information I have provided on the form is true and accurate. In consideration for being permitted by the above District to participate in the above activity(ies), I hereby waive, release, and discharge any and all claims for damages for personal injury, death, or property damage which I may have, or which may hereafter accrue to me, as a result of participation in said activity(ies). This release is intended to discharge in advance the above District (its officers, employees, and agents) from any and all liability arising out of or connected in any way with my participation in said activity(ies), even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities mentioned above. It is understood that this activity involves an element of risk and danger of accidents and knowing those risks I hereby assume those risks. It is further agreed that this waiver, release and assumption of risk is to be binding by my heirs and assigns. I agree to indemnify and to hold the above persons or entities free and harmless from any loss, liability, damage, cost, or expense which they may incur as a result of my death or any injury or property damage that I may sustain while participating in the said activity(ies). In the event of an injury that required medical care, I am covered under Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District's Workers Compensation Insurance. I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS AGREEMENT, WAIVER AND RELEASE AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENTS. I AM AWARE THAT THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND A CONTRACT BETWEEN MYSELF AND THE ABOVE DISTRICT AND I AGREE TO IT OF MY OWN FREE WILL.

  • If volunteering with a group or organization, please indicate the name of your group.
  • Section 5164 of the Public Resources Code of the State of California prohibits the Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District from hiring a volunteer to perform services at any of it's parks, playgrounds or recreational centers used for recreational purposes in a position having supervisory or disciplinary authority over any minor, if the person has been convicted of certain crimes under the California Penal Code. Section 5164 also authorizes Fair Oaks Recreation and Park District to screen any such prospective volunteer for his or her criminal background. Have you ever been convicted of a criminal offense (felony or serious misdemeanor)? (Convictions for marijuana related offenses that are more than two years old need not be listed).
  • In the event I am injured I will immediately report injury to a Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District staff member. I acknowledge I am covered under Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District's Workers Compensation Insurance.
  • I agree that if I have been exposed to COVID-19 in the last 10 days, diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 10 days, or otherwise experiencing cold- or flu-like symptoms related to COVID-19, I will not attend my scheduled volunteer shift.
