About the application

Monitor cooking competition, crowd control & walk plates to judges Must be able to walk while carrying 2 plates of food. *Must be able to stand for long periods. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Volunteer Perks & Instructions: Jekyll Island Shrimp & Grits Festival relies on volunteer support to make the festival a success. In exchange, festival volunteers receive the following for the hours they complete: Dinner for volunteers working during the 6:00 pm shift on Friday & Saturday Lunch for volunteers working during the 12:00 pm shifts on Saturday & Sunday Work up to 4 hours (Total Volunteer Perk Value: $65) -- One T-Shirt -- One Event Hang tag for parking close to the festival and free island entrance for the day of shift Work 8 plus total hours: (Total Volunteer Perk Value: $95) -- One T-Shirt -- One Event Hang tag for parking close to the festival and free island entrance for the day of shift -- One Festival Poster -- Goody Bag Work 12 plus total hours: (Total Volunteer Perk Value: $165) -- One T-Shirt -- One Event Hang tag for parking close to the festival and free island entrance for the day of shift -- One Festival Poster -- Goody Bag -- Your choice of One Amenities Pass or One Entrance to Craft Brew Festival -- Eligible for the “Volunteer of the Year” awards Hang tags, parking instructions and a festival map will be mailed prior to the event. Shirts will be picked up first day of volunteering at the Information/Volunteer Tent. All other items will be received after final volunteer shift is complete at the Information/Volunteer Tent. Please join us as we make the Shrimp & Grits Festival an exceptional experience for Jekyll Island, the Golden Isles, and all of Georgia. *Reminder: Hang tags will get you on the island ALL DAY the day of your shift ONLY. Come early or stay late the day of your shift to enjoy everything the 2018 Shrimp & Grits Festival has to offer! **ALL volunteers that work at least 4 hours will receive a volunteer shirt. However, correct T-shirt sizes are only guaranteed to volunteers that signup by July 30, 2019. Anyone signing up after this deadline will receive a shirt as close to their specified size as possible.

Release and Waiver of Liability This Release and Waiver of Liability (the “Release”) executed on this day, I am in favor of THE JEKYLL ISLAND AUTHORITY, organized and existing under the laws of the State of Georgia. The undersigned volunteer desires to perform unpaid assistance to JIA and in consideration for the opportunity to provide such assistance, does hereby and for its heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns (hereinafter collectively referred to as the ”Volunteer”) does hereby release, remise, demise, disclaim and forever discharge and hold JIA and the State of Georgia (hereinafter collectively referred to as “JIA”) harmless from any and all claims, demands, rights, causes of action and damages, of every kind and nature whatsoever, past, present, or future, whether known or unknown, specifically including but not limited to the following: (i) bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death, or property damage: (ii): emergency medical services rendered to the Volunteer by JIA that becomes necessary during any period that the Volunteer is performing unpaid assistant to JIA. The Volunteer acknowledges that the performance of its duties as an unpaid assistant to JIA may require participation in hazardous or inherently dangerous activities. The Volunteer hereby expressly assumes the risk of injury or harm in those activities. Medical Insurance: The Volunteer understand that, except as otherwise agreed to by JIA in writing; JIA does not carry or maintain health, medical, or disability insurance coverage for The Volunteer. JIA does not assume any responsibility for or obligation to provide financial or other kind of assistance, including but not limited to medical, health or disability insurance in the event of injury, illness, death or property damage. The Volunteer is expected and encouraged to obtain his or her own medial or health insurance coverage. Photographic Release: The Volunteer hereby expressly grants and conveys unto JIA all of the Volunteer’s rights, title, and interest in any and all photographic images and video or audio recordings made by JIA while the Volunteer is performing it’s duties as an unpaid assistant including, but not limited to, any royalties, proceeds, or other benefits derived from such photographs or recordings. Term: This Release shall be effective on the date represented by the timestamped of this registration (hereinafter referred to as the “Effective Date”) and shall remain in full force and effect until its expiration which shall be at 11:59 PM on the day before the one-year anniversary of the Effective Date. This Release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the law and shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia. In the event any clause or provision of this Release shall be held to be invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such clause or provision shall not otherwise affect the remaining previsions of this Release, which shall continue to be enforceable.
