About the application

The Johns Creek Arts on the Boardwalk Juried Art Exhibit invites original 2D fine artists to apply for an opportunity to display and sell their work in a competitive, curated exhibition.

This juried showcase highlights high-caliber visual art across a variety of traditional and contemporary media. Accepted artists will have their work evaluated by a panel of jurors and displayed on standardized gridwall panels throughout the event.

Please read through the Terms & Conditions fully before submitted your artwork and application.

About the event

The event will feature artisans, hands-on experiences, local authors, performing arts (dance, live music, theatrical components), as well as high school artists and a juried exhibit. This is a family-friendly event. We are currently accepting applications for the Juried Exhibit, Artisan Tents, and Sponsorships.

Terms & Conditions

Medium & Art Type Specifications
Accepted Media: 2D original fine art including oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, photography, printmaking, and drawing. Works must be completely flat-backed and suitable for rack suspension.
Prohibited Media: Freestanding 3D sculptures, unframed paper/prints, canvas boards without hanging hardware, or wet artwork. All finishes (oil, acrylic, varnish) must be 100% dry and cured prior to check-in.

Weight & Size Requirements
Maximum Weight Limit: 5 lbs per piece to prevent display tipping and ensure panel stability.
Maximum Dimensions: Total outer dimensions cannot exceed 24x24 inches (including the outer edge of the frame).
Minimum Dimensions: Pieces must be at least 8x10 inches, so they hang cleanly across grid intersections without twisting.

Hardware & Grid Rack Hanging Rules
Accepted Hardware: D-rings or heavy-duty screw eyes attached directly to the back of the wood or metal frame, strung with a taut picture wire.
Picture wire must be pulled taut so that the highest peak rests at least 2 inches below the top bar when pulled upward. This ensures the grid hook remains hidden behind the frame when mounted.
Wire ends must be securely twisted and wrapped in masking or painters tape to protect grid panels and handlers.
Prohibited Hardware: Absolutely no sawtooth hangers, clip frames, eye hooks, string, or adhesive strips. Sawtooth hangers do not catch securely on standard grid hooks and risk slipping.
Grid Hook Compatibility: Art will be hung using standard S-hooks or gridwall picture hooks. Wire tension must allow the hook to latch securely onto the horizontal grid wires without tilting forward.

Framing & Edge Constraints
Works on Paper: Must be mounted behind clean glass or Plexiglas and framed.
Gallery-Wrapped Canvas: Unframed canvases are accepted if the depth is standard (typically 1.5 inches). All sides must be neatly painted with no visible staples, tacks, or raw canvas. Canvas backings must have clean, taut wire attached via D-rings.
