About the registration
Daybreak Farmers Market Cook Off
This contest is primairly to create a fun way to showcase the products our vendors grow, create and sell.
Contestents will receive $100 in Market Bucks to shop the market the morning of the event, contestants will be expected to use both produce and meat, along with at least one unusual ingredient that people may not normally know how to cook with. Even though the market opens at 9:00 AM, we encourage contestents to make arrangements with specific vendors to pick up items earlier on that day.
Contestents are required to create:
1 Main dish
1 Side dish
1 Dessert
There will be 3 judges. Together the judges will choose one overall winner.
PRIZE:
Winning contestant will receive a prize consisting of items contributed by the vendors of the Daybreak Farmers Market
As part of the contest contestants are expected to spend a little time scouting the market in the weeks before the contest and filming some interactions with vendors as part of the lead-up content.
The market will provide: Market Bucks, 10x10 canopy, 3 tables, table covers, handwashing stations, wash station, garbage cans, plates, eating utensils.
Contestants will provide their own: BBQs/smokers, fuel, cookware, utensils, prep supplies, serving materials, etc.

Grillmasters Cookoff Participation Waiver and Release of Liability
Assumption of Risk, Waiver, and Release of Liability
By participating in the Grillmasters Cookoff (the “Event”), I acknowledge and agree to the following:
1. Voluntary Participation
I understand that my participation in the Event is completely voluntary. I knowingly and willingly choose to participate in all Event activities, including but not limited to food preparation, grilling, cooking, handling hot surfaces, use of knives and cooking equipment, transportation of equipment, setup and teardown, food sampling, and interaction with members of the public.
2. Assumption of Risk
I understand that participation in the Event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
Burns, cuts, slips, falls, smoke inhalation, fire-related injuries, and other physical injuries
Foodborne illness or allergic reactions
Equipment malfunction or misuse
Property damage or loss
Weather-related hazards
Injuries caused by other participants, attendees, vendors, or third parties
Serious bodily injury, disability, illness, or death
I fully understand and voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in the Event, whether known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable.
3. Release and Waiver of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the following entities and individuals:

Empowered Community Markets
Daybreak Farmers Market
Reef Properties
LHM Real Estate (LHMRE)
LiveDaybreak
Event sponsors, partners, affiliates, volunteers, staff, contractors, vendors, judges, property owners, and representatives
(collectively referred to as the “Released Parties”)
from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, causes of action, damages, losses, expenses, or costs of any kind, including attorney fees, arising out of or related to participation in the Event.
This release includes, without limitation, claims relating to:
Personal injury
Illness
Disability
Property damage or loss
Economic loss
Emotional distress
Death
Negligence of the Released Parties
Any other injury or damage arising from participation in or attendance at the Event
4. Indemnification
I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising from my participation in the Event, my actions, or the actions of anyone associated with my team, booth, or participation.
5. Responsibility for Equipment and Food Safety
I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for:
The safety and condition of my equipment
Proper food handling and food safety practices
Compliance with applicable health department, fire safety, and event rules
Supervising any assistants, team members, or guests associated with my participation.
6. Medical Treatment
I authorize emergency medical treatment if necessary during the Event and understand that I am solely responsible for any medical costs incurred.
7. Insurance
I understand that the Released Parties may not provide medical, health, liability, or property insurance coverage for participants. I understand it is my responsibility to obtain any insurance coverage I deem appropriate.
8. Media Release
I grant permission for photographs, video recordings, livestreams, and other media taken during the Event to be used by the Event organizers and affiliated entities for promotional, marketing, social media, and advertising purposes without compensation.
9. Severability
If any provision of this waiver is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
10. Acknowledgment
I certify that:
I have carefully read this document in its entirety
I fully understand its contents
I understand that I am giving up substantial legal rights
I sign this agreement freely and voluntarily
I intend for this waiver and release to be legally binding upon myself, my heirs, family members, estate, successors, and assigns
