Sculpture Walk XV Application
About the application
Application Information
Submissions: Functional or non-functional work in any media suitable for outdoor public space. Work will be installed in Kingsport's community parks or along the Greenbelt, a walking and biking trail. Works may be available for purchase but may not be removed until the end of the contracted period. Up to eight works will be selected for this exhibition.
This year's focus will be Land Art in conjunction with the 250-year anniversary (or semi-quincentennial) of the founding of the United States of America. We encourage artists to consider the heritage and history of the land, or to submit pieces that interact playfully with the ground.
Examples of land art include work which connects to the history of our nation or region, honoring or sharing stories of local indigenous tribes, sculpture which seems to rise in and/or out of the ground, and sculpture which reflects the surrounding space.
Eligibility: Open to all professional artists over the age of 18. 10 foot height maximum for sculptures.
Exhibition: 24 months, April 2026 – April 2028.
Stipend: $2,000
Deadline: Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on November 17, 2025 (no late applications will be accepted).
