Food Vendor

Apply to be a vendor at Downtown Harrisonburg's 5th Annual Best.Weekend.Ever., a downtown-wide celebration of small businesses, art, music, and community!

Before beginning your application, please read ALL of the information below:

This event is rain or shine. All vendor spaces will be outdoors and all vendors are required to bring their own 10 x 10 tent, tent weights, table, etc. We provide the space and the thousands of attendees/potential customers, but vendors are expected to bring all the supplies needed for their setup.

Please note, the grounds surrounding the Court House will not be usable for this event. Instead of the lawn of the Court House grounds, vendors will be located on the sidewalks and streets surrounding Court Square. We will share more information and provide you with a map detailing your exact location no earlier than June 9th. 

On this event date, Main Street will begin closing to vehicular traffic at 9 AM and will begin reopening at 5:15 PM. However, vendors will be permitted vehicular access to the closed event zone at the following times:

ARRIVAL & SETUP:

11:00 AM - VENDOR VEHICULAR ENTRANCE OPENS

• Vendors will be able to access their vendor space, to unload their vehicle(s), between the hours of 11 AM and 12 PM. 

12:00 PM - VENDOR VEHICULAR ENTRANCE CLOSES

• Vendor-vehicles arriving after 12 PM, will not be allowed into the vendor zone to unload. 

12:15 PM - VENDOR VEHICULAR EXIT CLOSES

• Vendors must unload and remove their vehicle(s) from the vendor zone no later than 12:15 PM.
• Vendors can unload their tent, tables, etc. from their vehicle(s), leave the vendor zone to park, and then come back, on foot, to finish setting up.

BREAKDOWN & EXIT:

5:15 PM - VENDOR VEHICULAR ENTRANCE OPENS

• At the end of the event, vendors may begin breaking down and packing up their booth. Vendors will be permitted to drive their vehicle into the vendor zone at 5:15 PM.

6:30 PM - ALL VENDORS MUST BE BROKEN DOWN AND PACKED UP

• Main Street will be open to all traffic, and the roads and sidewalks must be cleared.

Please keep in mind that the mission of our organization centers around supporting small businesses located in Downtown Harrisonburg. If, upon review of your application, we find that your business is in direct, obvious competition with a business already located downtown, we may not be able to accept you as a vendor at our festivals.

• Vendor fee payments must be received prior to the event date.
• In order to be refunded their vendor fee, vendors must notify HDR that they need to cancel their vendor space no less than 10 business days prior to the event date. Cancellation requests made after the 10 business day deadline will not be refunded. 
• All tents must be weighted!
• All HDR events will be held rain or shine.
• Vendors are responsible for bringing their own tent, tables, chairs, tent weights, and any other items needed as part of an outdoor event.
• Activities and displays must be appropriately family-friendly. Vendors that refuse to adhere to this policy will be asked to leave the event. 
• Each vendor is expected to clean up and dispose of their own trash throughout the day and before leaving. When you pack up your booth and leave the event, nothing should be left behind in your booth space.
• Unless you are able to breakdown and exit the event without driving your vehicle onto the closed road surrounding your vendor space, early breakdowns are not permitted.
