Want to bring the scares to the Klickitat County Harvest Festival? Our Haunted Zone is the place for you!

Unlike our family-friendly Trunk or Treat area, the Haunted Zone is specifically for participants who want to create a spooky, scary, or interactive Halloween experience.

Choose the setup that works best for you:

Haunted Trunk Zone — Decorate your vehicle or trunk and transform it into a spooky experience.

Haunted Pop-Up Tent Zone — Bring a pop-up tent and create a walk-up or walk-through haunted experience. This is a great option if you need more room for decorations, props, or scare actors.

Participants in the Haunted Zone may include scare actors, jump scares, spooky props, sound effects, and scarier decorations.

Please keep in mind: This is still a community event attended by families and children. Displays should be Halloween scary and fun. No weapons, inappropriate/adult content, or excessively graphic/gory displays.

Participants may hand out candy or other small giveaway items. No homemade food or treats are permitted. All edible items must be commercially produced and individually wrapped. Non-food options such as stickers, pencils, mini toys, and other small goodies are encouraged.

All participants must be completely set up and ready by 3:00 PM and remain in their assigned area through 5:00 PM.

If your organization or group is bringing multiple haunted trunks or tents, please let us know when registering so we can do our best to place you together.

Haunted Trunk Zone & Haunted Pop-Up Tent Zone Terms and Conditions

By registering for the Haunted Trunk Zone or Haunted Pop-Up Tent Zone, I understand and agree to the following terms and conditions.

Event Time and Check-In
Haunted Trunk and Haunted Pop-Up Tent activities will take place from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Participant check-in and setup is from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
All participants must be parked, set up, and completely ready by 3:00 PM.
Participants will enter near NAPA in Goldendale and follow event staff directions to their assigned location.
Participants are expected to remain set up through 5:00 PM.
Vehicles may not be moved within the event area during the event unless directed by event staff.

Haunted Zone Requirements
The Haunted Zone is specifically designated for participants who want to provide a scarier Halloween experience.
Participants may use scare actors, jump scares, spooky sound effects, props, special effects, and scary decorations.
Participants must register for either a Haunted Trunk space or Haunted Pop-Up Tent space based on their planned setup.
Scares and actors must remain within the designated Haunted Zone and may not enter or interfere with the family-friendly Trunk or Treat area.
Scare actors may not chase attendees outside of their designated space.
Participants and scare actors may not grab, restrain, intentionally touch, or make unwanted physical contact with attendees.
No real weapons, functional weapons, or dangerous props are permitted.
Displays may not contain excessively graphic gore, sexual or adult content, discriminatory material, or other content inappropriate for a community event attended by children.
Event organizers have final discretion regarding whether a display, prop, costume, activity, or participant behavior is appropriate.

Haunted Pop-Up Tent Requirements
Participants are responsible for providing their own pop-up tent, decorations, props, and equipment.
All pop-up tents must be properly secured and weighted.
Participants should prepare their tents and displays for changing weather conditions, including wind and rain.
Decorations, cords, props, tent legs, stakes, and other equipment may not create a tripping or safety hazard.
All equipment and decorations must remain within the participant's assigned space.
Walk-through displays must maintain a clear entrance and exit.
Emergency and event access routes must remain unobstructed at all times.
Event staff may require tents, decorations, props, or equipment to be removed if they become unsafe due to weather or other conditions.

Candy, Food and Giveaways
We receive a large number of trick-or-treaters and recommend bringing a minimum of 1,000 pieces of candy or giveaway items.
No homemade food or treats are permitted.
All edible items must be commercially produced, individually wrapped, and in their original packaging.
Opened or unwrapped food may not be distributed.
Participants are encouraged to provide non-food options for children with food allergies or dietary restrictions.
Suggested non-food items include stickers, pencils, erasers, temporary tattoos, mini toys, and other small kid-friendly items.
Participants are responsible for supplying their own candy and giveaway items.

Organizations and Multiple Setups
Organizations, businesses, clubs, teams, or groups bringing multiple trunks or tents should notify event organizers during registration.
We will do our best to place multiple setups from the same organization together.
Final placement will be determined by event organizers based on available space, safety, and event flow.

Participant and Actor Responsibilities
Participants are responsible for the actions and behavior of everyone associated with their trunk or tent, including volunteers and scare actors.
Children participating within a trunk or tent must be appropriately supervised by a responsible adult.
Participants must follow all instructions provided by Klickitat County Harvest Festival staff and volunteers.
Participants are responsible for maintaining a safe setup throughout the event.
Event organizers reserve the right to require changes to a display or activity or remove a participant from the event if there is a safety concern or violation of these terms.

Weather and Event Conditions
The Klickitat County Harvest Festival is a wind, rain, snow, or shine event. Participants should come prepared for changing fall weather conditions, including wind, rain, snow, and cold temperatures.

Participants are responsible for properly securing and weighting all tents, canopies, decorations, props, signs, and equipment. Participants should bring appropriate weather protection for themselves, their volunteers, actors, candy, decorations, and equipment.

Inclement weather alone does not mean the event is canceled. The event will continue unless Klickitat County Harvest Festival organizers determine that conditions create a significant safety concern.

Event organizers reserve the right to delay, modify, relocate, suspend, or cancel activities if weather or other conditions create a safety concern.

Agreement
By submitting my registration, I confirm that I have read, understand, and agree to these Terms and Conditions. I understand that I am responsible for ensuring that everyone participating with my Haunted Trunk or Haunted Pop-Up Tent follows these requirements and all instructions provided by Klickitat County Harvest Festival staff.
